Stop bitching and whining when someone does not act like you want them to. If a fighter loses and walks out of the ring...so what. If they touch gloves or don't before a fight...so what!?!?!?!? Judge their fighting and leave the rest alone. We should be talking about the fight. I love Rich, but he did not show up with his A game and he was schooled. This is a MMA forum....not an Etiquette forum! | Some of us here compete, myself included....don't come to such quick conclusions. It's a little thing called respect, it's what you should have for your opponent no matter what happens in the fight, and Rich really didn't show any. I understand he's bummed out that he lost but at least get the hell over to him and shake his hand or something, he trained his ass off in the gym just like you did. I gaurantee you if Rich beat Silva that Silva would have shaken his hand, given him a hug and congratulated him.

| Read what I said I said UFC fighters....I know that some of us compete...I do too. But I am a full time teacher and don't make my living like the UFC fighters do..I try to get 1-2 hours training in a day. I don't see any UFC fighters in this forum telling us what it is like. We can only imagine what it is like to be in their world. Some of us need to get off our high horses and stop judging these guys.

You still treat your opponent with respect, I don't care what organization, federation, league, academy, whatever the hell you are fighting with. He should of gone out like a champion much like Ken Shamrock did despite getting his shit pushed in by Tito, it takes a man to do it.

I don't see your point? They are fighting in a step up organization, they are paid, that should effect their lives in a POSITIVE way as they are where we want to be, getting paid to fight.
It's a fight, I don't care what org it is for, there is still pressure to perform and win. I am not buying your whole theory, it makes no sense.
Franklin showed 0 class, he got handed his worst loss in his career, one of the nastiest nose breaks MMA has seen, landed 1 punch in the fight, and was completely out macthed and out classed during and after the fight. He should be ashamed. When you are hyped by the UFC to be the best MW in the world with your best victory coming over a 1 dimesional Tanner, you either need to be humble (but Franklin is as cocky as Matt Hughes, go figure they're great friends) or you need to be the baddest mofo in the world at MW (as we have seen A. Silva leave Pride for UFC) as at any given point in time Filho, Kang or Hendo could join UFC and then what? All that hype surrrounding a fighter and now he must live up to it so it is always best to be humble and have respect for your opposition and not try and act like UFC is the only MMA org.

Because there was no need to raise Franklins had after the fight
Not every fighter should do that, givin him credit and a hug is good enough
Shamrock/Ortiz was a special moment, they were ending a fued and Ken was retiring thats why they raised eachothers hands.. there was no need for that in this fight.
OK I see what some of you are sayin though, it was A. Silva that hugged Franklin.. Franklin was kind of off on his own.. I get the point now ya I dunno why he did that Franklin is usually a class act I would say that Ace's mind was still on the fight.. he probably didnt think of doin that cuz he was still tryna figure out what happened.

That's still ignoring the fact that he never walked over to congratulate Silva.

On any other fight there would be no need for it. But it would show some major class for one champ to congratulate the new champ. Sportmanship man...sportsmanship.
