Karo would def stand a chance against hughes. Karo has better stand and can defend on the ground. In this one i think the only advantage matt has is his cornfed country strength and superior wrestling. Karo has about the best judo in the octagon he also has some good submissions and GnP. This is one that could go either way. Karo is not the best fighter but matches up well with most of the WW division. He is one of my favorite fighters to watch just to see his judo throws.

I think Hughes would win a hard fought battle.
just my two cents.

Karo has a very good chance of defeating Hughes, or GSP even if they ever rematch. He has one of the slickest ground games in the WW division, very durable, great cardio, a good chin, and he's fearless. He's always looking to bring the fight to definite end, and even if it does go to decision, you typically know it was Karo domination. We simply just don't know how he can do against the elite three of the division, but he's beaten enough quality, top 10 opponents to justify his popularly held #4 spot. A win over Diego, another legit top 10 guy in my mind only solidifies his spot, and all that would be left for him would be a fight against either Penn, Hughes, or St. Pierre. The winner of a Karo/BJ fight should get the winner of the GSP/Hughes rematch.

yea he did lose to Sherk twice, but that was in 00' and 01'. he's gotten a whole lot better since then.
i also don't think he can defeat matt hughes, but hopefully im wrong. i rather see karo with the belt than hughes.

Karo has improved and for on thing his style would be to much for Hughes . Matt has trouble with fighters that are not wrestlers . Look when he fought BJ . GSP was rite on with Matt , but he gave up to soon. Karo should be the number one contender. not GSP he allready had his shot.

no matter the outcome it would be an exciting fight.that's what i like about karo he's exciting and his judo is amazing to watch. This is a very intriguing matchup and I'd agree Karo deserves the title shot he was next in line till he got hurt.he's healthy now and in my mind is number one contender.
