Lambert is considered the greatest middle linebacker of all time. member of the steel curtain. look up stories of him online, all pretty much say in football, nobody intimidated more than him.

I know Jack Lambert, but Jack Tatum was a bigger intimidator.. nothing to brag about but he paralyzed a WR in a pre-season game, Tatum was 5-10 and he was knockin around these big guys like they were nothin, he hit so hard that it was almost guaranteed that someones helmet was comin off, he was a mean dude.. and the Steelers feared the Raiders during that time because they would always deliver late hits to there offense.. pissed them off, and the Raiders just laughed about it.

yeah Jack Tatum was a bad ass dude. That hit where he paralyzed Darryl Stingley was pretty vicious. Poor Jack now has diabetes and had to have his foot amputated. In his day he was the most feared Safety in the game.

Poor stingley you mean lol im sure Stingley would trade in life in a wheelchair for diabetes and a amputated foot.

But from what I hear Stingley is a jackass, no reason to paralyze a guy but it happens in football, its not like Tatum woke up and said ima go paralyze Darryl Stingley today.. it was a clean tackle. Still feel bad for Stingley, jackass or not.

I argue with my football buddies about Butkus getting more votes then Lott, I think thats BS too.. Lott cut his finger off to play a football game whats more bad ass then that?

I'm a Raiders fan unfortunately, so I say poor Jack lol. It was definitely a clean tackle. He didn't do anything out of the ordinary, Stingley just landed wrong.

Lott and Butkus are a tough comparison. Different eras. It's hard to compare the different eras. But you definitely gotta give Lott props for cutting his damn finger off in a game and going back in the game. I believe it was his pinky, not positive though. Butkus was a tough SOB in his own right and played through many injuries also.

Im a Raiders fan too! glad to see another one on the forum

Ya its debatable on who is the bigger bad ass, Butkus or Lott but Butkus blew him out in the poll I think thats messed up, pinky or thumb cutting your finger off to play football is unreal.
