What the hell with Smith, did you hear him in the post fight interview saying that he was just waiting for the ref to check the cut on Lawler's head. Does not seem like the best strategy to take 30 unanswered shots because you think the ref might check our opponents head for a cut (and the cut didn't seem that bad).

I think Diaz goal was to put on a show and whoop some ass for his hometown, he did both I think.
But I do agree he needs to learn some head movement.

Anytime if you're in a fight, and you're waiting for the ref to check a cut instead of fight is just plain stupidity. It seemed to me he was just playing off of what Robbie said first. Who in the hell is going to just sit and wait for someone to check a cut?
On the other hand, that Cyborg celebration was f'n classic. I was yellin for the other chick to run and push her off of the cage. Watch out Gina, theres a new girl in town.

Shields knows Elite is crap for WW and UFC is where the dollars and comp are at. If you win and doing it in a good fashion you make good money. | The only reason Diaz is finishing everyone is because of the competition.. Put him in with the UFC 155 lb division and he won't be doing that IMO... Not saying he wont be winning some tough fights, but his block punches with my face technique would cost him some fights for sure...
Question as well Dork.. Do you think if Nick ever came back to the UFC he would fight at 170 again instead of 155 since Nate is fighting at 155???

A few things, first off, way way better then the first go around. The event was overall smoother and much more enjoyable.
However...
After watching Shields fight, I started to wonder how well he would do in the UFC and the answer is, he would do very well and damn it I can't wait till his contract has run out. The fights he could have in the UFC would be great, Kos, Fitch, GSP, Alves, Sanchez, or Karo.
The main event was very entertaining but after watching it I can not understand how people have Lawler in the Top 5 of MW. Are you really telling me that Lawler could hope to compete with Silva, Franklin, Hendo, Lindland, Okami, or Filho? Each one of those guys IMO would dominate and make short work of Lawler. He is a good fighter do not get me wrong, but he is no where near top 5 and barely top 10 IMO.
Diaz is a top 10 LW and outside of a bad cut against KJ Noons he has been fairly dominate. I doubt he will ever be in the UFC again or any org in which 155 is LW. He can barely make 160 and 155 would kill him. He is also just not strong to handle 170 which has been his downfall in the past. His rematch with Noons should be the next EliteXC main event on CBS.
Overall much better then the first time.

Second, the EXC show of last night was excellent compared to their first. If every EXC show on CBS is like the one aired last night, they will do very well for themselves and for the sport of MMA.
Also, I think Scott Smith was just keying into what Robbie said about him getting complacent and laying back. Whether you think Smith is dumb or not, you can't deny his class. I'd like to see him as a mainstay in EXC, he is a good face for the sport. He's also going to deliver some brutal KOs in his career. EXC is a good place for him right now. I think he should fight Ninja next.
