Default How big will the Chicago UFC be?

Once i realized that Chicago was close enough to drive to for me I ve been thinking about it alot. So my question is how big will this event be? and by that I mean the hype around the event? the demand for tickets? things like this now the Montreal was the biggest ufc event in my opinion and the card was pretty garbage. So far we have two potential fight for Chicago Anderson vs Cote which i would say is comparable to GSP vs Serra and then we have the co main event Montreal had Franklin vs Lutter (a garbage fight in my opinion) Chicago looks like it will have Alves vs Diego a very interesting fight. When i was looking at info on Chicago i realized it was the third largest city in the USA (population wise) So this lead me to believe this will be huge. What do u guys think?

Silva-Cote is no longer "potential" for UFC 90, it is a done deal.

Diego-Alves is not yet formally confirmed (so far as I know) but everything I've read says it is pretty much going to happen there.

To answer your question - huge. MMA just got sanctioned in Illinois recently and this will be the UFC's first ever event in Chicago. With Silva headlining and two top-7 WW's in the world fighting in a co-main event, it will be a huge event. It could well break various gate and attendance records; it'll at least test them.

I live in KC, about 8 hours away from Chicago, and will be driving in to see this card. My first-ever live UFC event. I am fired up

It should be huge as long as they get a few more names on the card. I would expect them to at least get a few Midwest guys on the card. Maybe Markham since he is from that area and knocked his last oponent stiff. I would almost put money on Hughes/Serra if Matt didn't fuck up his knee. I anticipate a great card with alot of quality fights. Which for the most part is all that the UFC has been putting on lately.

This event will be huge, maybe not the fight though. I do not think Cote is a main event fighter and if it wasn't for Anderson Silva the main event would be Sanchez vs. Alves.

Too bad AA is not in the UFC anymore because this would have been perfect timing for AA vs. Big Nog and that would have been huge in Chicago.

Any event that has Anderson Silva on the card is worth going too, atleast I would think so.

I've never been to a live event, but I could only imagine the hype of watching Anderson Silva in action.

Too bad Clay Guida is fighting in September at the UFN. That would have been huge to have him fight in Chicago since he is from northern IL in Johnsburg. Many people around my area seen him fight local shows previously.
