Blightsmite: Forget the conspiracy theory, although your quote about 'that's not what we discussed backstage' is really funny.

I got adjusted by my Chiropractor this morning and he is a big MMA fan. We agree that we will never forget that look on Ace's face when he was in that clinch. It looked like SHEER FUKKING TERROR. His eyes were bugged out at one point like he was so completely shocked that Silva had so much strength, let alone the fact that he was getting CRUSHED by those knees. Silva was moving him around like a rag doll and Franklin seemed like he was panicking, since he was taking shots, was immobilized by the clinch, and was shocked by the strength. Franklin couldn't decide whether to block the knees with his arms or try to pry the clinch off. Neither was working.

By the way, I wanted Franklin to win, as did most guys I watch the PPV with.

I felt like I watched a snuff film on Saturday night. Not to make fun of people with speech impediments, but it would not surprise me if Rich Franklin started to stutter when he speaks now. I would be surprised if he will ever be the same fighter who beat The Crow.

haha thats a good conspiracy theory...

in the ring Franklin was destroyed and his faced showed it. look at when silva released the clinch, rich looked like he didn't even want to put his hands up to cover his face.

I do however believe that something was wrong with rich. we didn't get to see his dressing room at all and his family look somber the whole time, even before the fight. I've watched the fight about ten times and the part that I find most curious is rich's entrance, the guy does not look like his head is even in the building never mind the fight.

Im not a hugh Rich Franklin fan but I respect him as a fighter and lets be honest people Rich never faced competion like Silva...those expressions on his face in the pics say EXACTLY THAT......... its an expression of fear and disbelieve.....Im mean Franklin is a good fighter but hell why didnt he just take Silva to the ground.......I would rather tap then have my nose and face smashed with the knees he got.....in my opinion Franklin embarrased himself....then to have your wife ringside crying, you know what his job is I think everyone realizied when they showed Silva in the back how clam he was that he isn't the fighter Franklin is used to beating and that all those dollar signs where going up in smoke....Im mean I'd cry to if I knew I was going to lose my belt and alot of money .

I agree w/ the majority of posters prior, Franklin had the look of someone that was trying to breathe and get his bearing. Obviosly he should have tried harder, however it was plain that he had no idea how to deal w/ the clinch work. Franklin likes the clinch as well but more towards the Roman-Greco then for the steeple. He was outworked and trying to get space to slow down and Anderson kept pushing. I did expect Anderson to win in the clinch, but not quite that dominintly.

Dive? If his face got that way from taking a dive, then I'd rather be KO'd.

I'm NOT saying Rich took a dive. I'm only saying These pictures make me suspicious.

I could be wrong, and I hope I am.

They showed his dressing room (I remember seeing a tall idiot standing there about an hour before the fight with a UFC belt around his waist).
