Default Amateur MMA shows.... Good or Bad?

I recently attended my first amateur mma event and left with mixed feelings. I enjoyed the fights, the atmosphere, and for the most part I enjoyed the fans. Most of them seemed well educated in the sport. My problem is the overall production of these events. To say this event was done on a shoe string budget is in no way exagerating. I realize that fighters have to start somewhere and work their way up. What I don't get is how small shows like this charge around 50 bucks a ticket and provide so little for the fans. Thank God their was a full medical staff their, and the fighters seemed well cared for. Which is probably the most important thing to begin with. However, if the fans aren't taken care of won't it make it hard for this sport to continue the boom that it is currently enjoying? Let me know what you guys think, maybe all amateur shows a very low budget, I don't know.

I don't go to a lot of amateur shows, but I do attend a lot of smaller promotion shows. Could you be more specific about what you mean by "not taking care of the fans."

I just got back from attending UFC-64 in person and next Saturday I'm going to my first amature show. I'll give a good recap of each and the differences.

Here's the amature show:

We've got 1/2-way decent "50 dollar" seats.

i live in chicago and combat-do puts together a lot of small shows. shonie carter's usually there as he's a trainer at combat-do. but its a small show and it really can't offer too much as such. its the same thing with smaller stand-up comedians and music shows

Our ameteur shows are only 20 bucks hell most of the pro shows are only 20 bucks too, although most seats are nosebleed.

What part of the country are you in? That can make a big difference. Hell, some areas can literally have double the cost-of-living than others.
