I dont think Chuck deserves a title shot for beating Rashad but I wont be surprised if/when they give him one. Hes a former dominant champion whos still the biggest draw currently with the UFC. It wont surprise me at all if he gets a title shot.

I agree Chuck doesn't "deserve" a shot at the moment either, but if he beats Rashad especially by KO Forrest might as well start watching tapes.

It doesn't matter if we think he does or not.Its up to the UFC,and it's probably in their best interest to make as much off Chuck while they still can.Chuck right now is still a big draw, and will be used as such.Being Dana's boy will also play into if Chuck gets a title shot or not.I'm betting if he beats Rashad he does!Besides Chuck/Forest would create more interest/money than Forest/Machida,and its all about money.

Outside of Machida, and arguments could be made for Rampage pre-breakdown, no one at LHW deserves a title shot yet. I'd even put Rashad Evans and T. Silva ahead of Chuck simply because they actually have a win streak going.
He needs to focus on Rashad first because Rashad has all the tools to beat Chuck.
Machida is the number one contender. Just because the UFC doesn't understand that doesn't mean Chuck gets to poke his nose into it. Hey Chuck, why don't you fight Machida. You think those body shots Jardine gave you were bad enough, fight Machida.

I think that Machida is the one that deserves the shot. He can't keep being denied a shot.

I'm not saying that it's fair but this is what UFC is probably going to do.

If Chuck beats Rashad convincingly, I think he deserves a shot, especially now that Rampage is no longer champ. Would be harder to make that case if Rampage were still champ. If he wins, he will have won 2 of his 3 and he was dominant against Silva. If he dominates Rashad (and undefeated fighter like Machida) then I think he deserves a shot over Machida. The major difference is the competition. Chuck will have had a win over a marquee name opponent where Machida does not have a win over a marquee elite fighter. I think he needs to beat an elite guy before he gets to fight for the strap.
Personally, I would have given Machida an elite guy for his next fight other than Thiago. This is basically saying he needs two fights to get a shot now. They should have given him Wandy or Shogun or Rampage. With a win over one of them, he would be ready for a shot.
Then there is the business aspect of it. Chuck would sell way PPVs than a Machida title fight. Not even close. This is what is going to drive the decision. It's a business and Dana is going to set up the title that is going to make the most money. A forrest/Chuck title event could do 700,000 PPVs.
If Chuck loses, then obviusly it will not be possible. But if Chuck wins, rest assured he will be going against Griffin at the end of the year for the belt (assuming no injuries).

If it wasnt for his fighting style he would have been shot way up the ladder by now. But Severn is right Quote:
