| Franklin fears nobody
franklin has the heart of a warrior, i seriously doubt that he was afraid of Silva. he went almost 4 rds. against loiseau with a broken hand and still dominated the fight. bottom line is, the guy needs to be cut some slack. Any time anyone steps in the cage, the outcome can go either way. He lost the fight, but he'll be back. For example:
Chuck - Lost to randy when everyone thought he was gonna knock randy's ass out, beaten him twice since then, even ko'ed tito.
Hughes - lost to penn, hasn't lost since. beat trigg twice, gsp, gracie, and recently beat penn.
Sylvia - forfeited belt, arm broken by mir, submitted by arlovski, ko'ed him to get his belt back when everyone thought arlovski was unstoppable. even beat him for a third time.
This experience will just motivate him even more and he will come back ready for a war next time. As far as those who say they think something looked odd about him, who really knows. If there was something wrong, it will come out in due time.

He fought with confidence before, his confidence will be in complete tatters now, and his nose will rebreak even easier next time. His ribs are glass, his chin is in shambles, held by scotch tape at best. What you saw was the beginning of the end of Rich Franklin. The Ace just got his card pulled!

Are you experts? Do you know Rich personally? Do you even know if he's contemplating coming back to the UFC? Maybe he wants to take an extensive break and go back to teaching? Your opinion is no better than mine. I have a 50/50 shot of being right, just like you jreed.
Besides, Rich lost very badly. I just don't think he'll return with the fire and confidence he originally had. Once you've tasted a brutal defeat like that, it takes years to recover. Rich may have to take some really really easy fights. I'm talking about fights where the opponent can barely even walk into the octagon. That's the best thing Dana can do to help his buddy out. Fighters will go at Rich with more confidence now, they won't see him as being all that special. They won't be intimidated by him at all.

I doubt Rich is going to shy away from MMA because he lost a fight. You're an idiot if you think no one is going to be afraid of Rich because of him losing. If there is another Middleweight out there with striking on par with Silva then they may not be afraid. But no fighter is going to overlook him because he got beat by Silva. Honestly, do you think before you type anything? Or do you just post every peice of bull that pops into your head? Maybe Dana should put Rich up against you, because I'm sure you wouldn't be intimidated by him at all right?

He may end up never regaining the pride and confidence that he quite possibly lost against Silva. Hell I could be wrong, he might come back immediately and blow Silva away in a rematch. But I can't see it happening. Maybe due to the fact that I originally never rated Franklin all that highly. I was never impressed with him honestly but I respected him.
