I think those words from Evan Tanner pretty much sum it all up.

The thing you ALL must realize is that Dana White is not paid a salary, he is not implementing new ideas to keep his current job, he is a share holder and is doing this dictating of the fighters and their opponents to make more money, he does not give a shit about any of us, just his paycheck.
This is not Franklin's fault, it is Dana White's fault for playing god and dictating fights and trying his best to dictate outcomes without fixing fights, hence Chuck's opponents and Franklin's opponents (I give Chuck much more credit though, he has proven he is world class but could he really handle Wand, Shogun, Arona, Nog, Igor or Cro Cop, I seriously doubt it).
Franklin WAS the best MW in the UFC and would've been the champ for many many years however A. Silva was aquired and people will HOPEFULLY open their eyes and not be so naive, and realize just HOW BIG OF A ROLE the UFC plays in setting up fights that favor their champions and hyping them up so much to the point Dana is trying to convince us (in the cockiest manor possible) that his champions are the best in the world.
This is not the case of a former Pride fighter beating a UFC untouchable poster boy who was supposedly the best in the world at MW (that many of you moron's ranked #3-4 on your pound for pound list), it is the case of a world class fighter beating a good-great fighter, nothing more.
Dana thought that with Franklin's workout regimine and being able to fight 5 rounds at an aggressive pace he would wear down Silva and KO him or win a unanimous decision (I guess on the ground, or Dana is just so ignorant that he thought Franklin would outstrike Silva as Franklin has done to everyone else, problem was, everyone else consited of sloppy strikers with VERY poor head movement, sitting ducks to be exact).
Trust me, Dana is not having the best week of his life right now, this was the worst case scenerio if you really think about it. If Babalu beat Chuck, it sucks but babalu speaks english so he is still marketable, if BJ Penn beats Hughes, that would've been just as good if not better than Hughes winning as fans (even noobies) like BJ Penn as they saw him man handle GSP in the standup, if Florian wins that is even better than if Sherk winds as Kenny is marketable as the noobie fans know him and he is a submission guy with good standup, none of the noobie fans are going to like Sherk and his 25 minute unanimous decisions as they won't understand how hard it is to dominate a fighter for 25 minutes by keeping them on the ground and pounding them out, and Silva beating Rich was the absolute worst case scenerio possible if you are Dana White as now you have a Brazilian fighter who speaks Portugese, has very litttle publicity in the UFC, was expected by the fans (and possibly Dana White as he is honestly one dumb fucker when it comes to knowing fighters skills) to lose the Leben fight, then was certainly expected by the fans and dana White to lose the MW championship fight.
Now what for Dana White? Does he try and market Silva? A fight vs Swick will hepl Silva's marketablity for sure as Swick is a fan favorite as well. Or.... Does he try and bring in Hendo or Dennis Kang (if he is willing to shell out a ton of money to try and steal them from Pride) as those are the only 2 people right now (other than Filho but again, a Brazilian so he is not marketable in the UFC) that are capable of deafeating Silva and would be marketable in the UFC at MW.
Something to really think about... Dana White hates people like me that actually think about the resoning behind his antics and try and breakdown what he is attemting to turn MMA into.

Please do not give yourself that much credit. Only one of these statements can be correct and it's the first one. Dana White doesn’t give a shit about what YOU think. Just keep shelling out that $50 a month.

UFC hasn't received any of my money since UFC 61, nice try kiddo. I stopped paying them and started bashing them for very valid reasons.
Also, what does $50.00 a month get you in the UFC? last I checked a PPV was $39.99... Do you order a special package deal for $50.00 that comes with a dildo?

Something to really think about... Dana White hates people like me that actually think about the resoning behind his antics and try and breakdown what he is attemting to turn MMA into. | I agree with a lot of what you said. Here is a conspiracy theory for you though. It is pretty well known that Dana is looking to expand globally and has plans to start an office in the UK and begin having some PPVs there as well. Is it possible that this was a way to gain entry into the Brazilian market? Do you think Dana may have put this match up together to possibily get a Brazilian champion that he can now market in Brazil?
I have not been an MMA fan that long, but even I could see this coming. If you look at who Rich had fought objectively, and you watched the Leben fight, you could see Rich was definitely in trouble and had a real shot at losing the belt.
I don't know what Dana's intentions are, nor do I know what the Brazilian MMA landscape is like, but I do not think it is out of the realm of possibility. Anyone else have thoughts or think this might have been the reason for the quick title shot for A. Silva?

| I think he got the quick title shot because the fans wanted it and Rogan was hyping the fight as soon as Silva took out Leben. Dana gave the fans what they wanted...though I think some of them are regretting it.
