Would you rather hear him saying, "I think i'm going to get my ass kicked. He's knocked out 8 of his last 11 opponents. He hasn't gone the distance in almost 4 years now. I too, will be like the rest."
I'm happy to see he has the confidence, other wise why take the fight?
But along the lines of captonion, i'm like 90% sure Silva will dismantle Cote like he has everyone else. I give Cote a slim chance, but in MMA you never know.
But this IS Anderson Silva we are talking about. He's looked so good and almost unbeatable for the last 4 years. It's scary.

Cote is weak, fluky fighting style. Silva will dominate him stand up with precision or with his freak of nature long arms/legs on the ground. I see Cote getting frustrated in stand up and taking silva down only to find himself in mission control and then losing by triangle choke.
Personally silva is one of the few fighters that can body triangle almost anyone, rubber guard almost anyone thus making him almost unstoppable unless he makes a mistake on the ground. Reminds me of one of my other favorites Aoki but has a spectacular stand up to back it up. Which is why I can't see him being beaten for awhile.

Heh, of course he is 100% confident he will win. What fighter wouldn't tell himself that before a fight? If a fighter tells himself "Eh, I got a punchers chance" that's just setting himself up for failure.

Cote has a punchers chance but thats all, and those odds are really long.

Never EVER say a fighter with good stand up and KO power cannot win a fight, because they can.
Chances are small for Cote, but still I won't say he CAN'T win, I don't think he will, but he definitely can.

He can win...but he won't.
And as someone in another thread pointed out, hopefully for Cote's sake Anderson doesn't hear this and choose to interpret it as a sign of disrespect. He's very sensitive to disrespect; and he demolished Leben and Lutter and then called them out for disrespecting him.
100% guaranteeing a win against Silva....not a prudent idea. Keep your mouth shut, play your cards close to the vest, do all your talking in the cage, and good luck to you.
All that said - we all know the game. This is hyping up the fight and the card.

a lot of people bashing cote for being confident and believing in himself. the guy can think whatever the fuck he wants, hes going into the fight with the right attitude, what did u expect him to say.
some of you talk like this is some kind of shock.

Anderson seems to beat people at their own games pretty handily, so I expect to see a KO/TKO from the Spider and than maybe we can see him at LHW against a higher tier opponent in that weight class for his next fight. MW just looks too easy for him.
Wouldn't a Machida/Silva fight be badass?
