I'm no Coleman fan, but come on man. Saying he's a never was? That's way off. He's an ex UFC champ and the 1st PRIDE Grand Prix champion. He's accomplished more than most ever will in this sport. He's definitely a legend in the sport.

Coleman was and is better than Ken Shamrock ever was.
the onyl reason shamrock was famous is because he went to WWF and did fake wrestling

Rubbish Coleman has strung together some decent wins in Pride against much weaker fighters, any1 who's put fwd any kind of challenge to him has brushed him aside.
Loss Nobuhiko Takada Submission (Heel Hook) PRIDE 5-PRIDE 5 4/29/1999 2 1:44
Loss Pedro Rizzo Decision UFC 18-Road to the Heavyweight Title 1/8/1999 1 15:00
Loss Pete Williams KO (Kick to the Head) UFC 17-Redemption 5/15/1998 1 12:38
Loss Maurice Smith Decision UFC 14-Showdown 7/27/1997 1 21:00
Says it all really.
One name sums it up Petey f00kin Williams with the worlds slowest and most obvious high kick.

i wont even bother reading the rest of the post. the answer imo is if beating an old beyond his years(but great trainer), will create yourself as a legend then yes. but i think fedor would say otherwise about his career. and if the american mma public want to see anymore of him(and we do) they need not look to far from the forums we have here.
PLEASE..............

Fedor is a legend and without doubt the best heavyweight around at the moment.
I'd love to see him fight in a cage though, just out of curiousity really. Whether it would change his game for the better or for worse in the sense that people could pressure him up against the cage and limite some of his striking abiltity. Doubt they could but i'd love to wath people try, people dont seem to have much of a chance in the normal ring against him, would he dominate the same way in a cage enviroment?

I'm a huge ufc fan that never watched pride before. I seen some footage of Fedor not to long ago and all i could think was holly shit this guy is a fucking beast. I would love to see him fight Tim, wait let me change that i would love to see him knock Tim's head off. We all know what this man would do to the ufc heavyweight's. Then i seen Mirko's fight with wandy and that kick to the head was sick, i would love to see him beat everyones ass in ufc's heavyweight devison.

I think Pride dropped the ball here putting him against Coleman. I can see their thinking, build up Fedor to the American public when he beats Coleman a "well-known" American fighter. But what I think they failed to grasp is most American fans of MMA have only been fans for last 3 years or so because of The Ulitmate Fighter. The average American fan has no idea who Mark Coleman is. All they are gonna see is this Russian beat up some old American. I dont see why they didn't make Fedor vs. Barrnet, it would have been a lot more interesting match and I think Barrnet has just as much name recongination as Coleman in America right now. Hell have Fedor fight Bob Sapp if you want him to beat up a well known American fighter, seeing as Sapp has been ESPN a couple of times.

I mean come on he is not even rated in the top 10 as a fighter.
