To us, that will be the case but seriously, Coleman did hand the #2-3 LHW in the world his first Pride loss. Coleman is old but he has aged much better than Shamrock and it is because Coleman is a phenomenal wrestler with GNP and Shamrock was a pheneomenal submission expert that relied on quickness in order to sink in the submissions and since he did not become a great well rounded fihgter his career was bound to be much shorter than Coleman's when measuring success.

But to the noobie fans, all they will know is some highlight reels of old skool Coleman fights where he rapes Goodridge and Frye and what a beast of a man he was and the fact that he was a former 2 time UFC champion. If the noobie UFC fans order the Pride event, that is what they will know and think but seriously, don't kid yourself, it's not like Fedor has not or could not rape anyone placed in front of him.

But I defintately do not buy Pride stating that no one wanted to fight fedor and Coleman was the only one willing to take the fight, they knew exactly what they were doing and why it is so important to have a former 2 time UFC champion fighting some russian guy named Fedor. But in the same sense, UFC sort of brought htis upon themselves by hyping Shamrock late in his career liek he was still a great fighter, that is exactly what Pride has done with Coleman and it should work to the same effect.

Why? because he is the best fighter on Earth and his commercial is all over Monday Night Football games, Maxboxing.com, and TUF

coleman is a great wrestler. his best performance was when he won pride 2000. after heads butts were out of the ufc, he was virtually easily beatable. fedor is gonna handle him very easily.

Of course he'll hammer Coleman. Coleman had his ass handed to him in UFC, just because he had limited success 5 years ago in Pride doesnt make him anything. He's not even a has been, he's a never was.

Fedor is still the man though. I would really love to see him in a UFC cage enviroment though. I think it would either destroy him or make him unbeatable but I can't decide which, all depends on how his style would evolve to it.
