It's gotta be Fedor! He came out and KILLED Tim Sylvia in under a minute. He put all of the Fedor doubters (myself included) in their place. That first uppercut was so fast it reminded me of the old Mike Tyson's Punchout when Tyson would throw those uppers in literally a blink of an eye.

None of the other top 10 LHW's have fought the "longterm top 5". | Nothing against your argument but your bias in it is saying ONLY those guys are top five Forrest is only recently in top 5 I would venture to say Arona was top Five longer than Forrest and the stats would change a bit. Arona split with Wandy lost to Shogun beat Hendo and lost to Rampage (2-3) against long term LHW but that now changes the stats that you put up now lets reexamine them Rampage: Beat Chuck twice, beat Hendo once, lost to Wandy twice, lost to Shogun beat Arona (4-3 against longterm top 5) Liddell: Beat Wandy, lost to Rampage twice (1-2 against longterm top 5) Shogun: Beat Rampage beat Arona (2-0 against longterm top 5) Hendo: Split 2 fights with Wandy, lost to Rampage lost to Arona (1-3 against longterm top 5) Wandy: Beat Rampage twice, Split 2 fights with Arona, split 2 fights with Hendo, lost to Chuck (4-3 against longterm top 5)

If your truly unbiased about this it has to be Hansen hands down, he won 2 fights in the same night.
The biased will pick Fedor or Forrest.

and I think that Rampage has stated that he was "depressed and fat" before the Forrest fight

Ok good points Ubie and I did think of Arona but didn't include him. Arguably I should have included him as one of the longterm top 5ers.
If you understood me to imply that Forrest was the "equal" of these guys in the sense of now being in the top 5 you misunderstood, these 5 (really 6 with Arona) definitely have staying power that Forrest hasn't yet had a chance to show or not show.
The stats I showed were only of those longterm top 5's results against one another on the one hand, and the current top 10's results against them on the other. For those purposes, Forrest falls into the latter group which is why he's below the "perforation" along with Little Nog and Jardine.
Even with your revised stats, I still see Forrest's performance as being the most impressive though it's certainly much less clearcut. Several of the guys have now beaten more than one of the longterm top 6, and a couple have beaten 3.
Forrest at 2-0 - against guys who were consensus #1 when he beat them - is still very solid.

Inherently Aoki and Hellboy were on unequal footing with all other fighters in this poll due to this fact; and I maintain that while it is impressive to win two fights against very talented fighters (one of them top-3) in one night, that top-3 win was tainted because his opponent also had fought earlier that evening - something you couldn't say about Sylvia, Rampage or anyone else.
Like I stated in a DREAM thread a week or two ago, I'm not a fan of same-day tournaments, for this reason among others. It just produces a (potentially) artificial result. Quote:

The biased will pick Fedor or Forrest. | I went with Hansen as well. Who saw him winning everything? Well, nobody, because he was an alternate. Still, he was a huge underdog and when he won, I literally said "really? really? Holy shit." And yes, I was talking to myself.
