Diaz’s camp claims that DREAM owes him money
Posted by Sam Caplan
In a new submission on the website GracieFighter.com, an accusation is made that Nick Diaz still has not received payment from DREAM following his first round submission over Katsuya Inoue at DREAM.3 on May 11.
GracieFighter.com, which is owned and operated by Diaz’s trainer, Cesar Gracie, indicates that Diaz’s most recent wins at “Return of the King” this past June against Muhsin Corbbrey and Thomas Denny last weekend at “Unfinished Business” have convinced EliteXC officials that he’s ready for a rematch against K.J. Noons. The site states that a date for the potential lightweight title fight that has been discussed is the promotion’s next CBS show on Oct. 4.
However, the site goes on to adds that it is unclear if Noons’ camp will accept the fight and that if they don’t, Diaz could opt to fight Hayato “Mach” Sakurai during DREAM’s September event. However, that bout could be put on hold as well due to the claim by Diaz’s camp that he is still owed money from his last fight for DREAM.
“Diaz could be cleared to fight Mach Sakurai in Dream at the end of September,” states GracieFighter.com. “Diaz has wanted to fight Sakurai for the DREAM championship belt, but a stumbling block to this fight has been that as of now DREAM has still not paid him a cent for the last fight he participated in for their organization almost three months ago.”
If DREAM has in fact still not compensated Diaz for his work, it’s believed that he could be owed a significant amount of money as sources revealed to FiveOuncesOfPain.com several months ago that Diaz was expected to be paid $100,000 for his fight at DREAM.3.
According to the site, Diaz will be participating in jiu-jitsu Gi competitions while he awaits word on his next MMA bout.
| DREAM better pay up or they may be on the receiving end of a DIAZ Brothers drive by shooting....

That's fucked up, homie.
Must say, I'll be very fucking annoyed if KJ doesn't accept the fight. I'm one of Nick's biggest critics, and I still think KJ would finish where he left off last time, but if he doesn't accept the fight - Sayonara credibility.

EXC requires any fighters on a CBS card to sign a contract extension and so far Noons has repeatedly refused to sign the extension.

I mean, look what Diaz did to him in the last fight....
If I were KJ I would consider staying in boxing, he is a good boxer and there is still more money there than MMA.
