So far he has been right? Everyone who has tried to compete directly with the UFC has failed.

Affliction did make a mistake with trying to jump into the sport way to quickly... They're trying to make a huge splash... (They did by putting on a great show) but they didnt have the advertising. If anything, the Affliction show should have been free on NBC... THAT would have made a huge splash.

Dana is way too smugg for my liking taking into account he had everything in his favor when he started out.He had the first big name in MMA,and huge money backing him.He could afford to make mistakes with little invested, and nobody trying to block his progress other than politics.I hope that Affliction does make it for the fans sake, and to prove Dana wrong.
I'm not sure if Dana feels threatened by Affliction,or if he is just trying to block them out of spite.Could it be a little of both?

Dana is just speaking the truth. They fucking destroy everyone. Pride was fucking awesome and look what happened there. UFC is the major leagues everyone else is trying to be the minors. I just really don't see how anyone can ever overtake or compete. You would need someone with the deepest pockets ever. They are a juggernaut.
Affliction is millions in the hole. If they keep this up the clothing line will go out of business.I don't think they will make money and I think we will only see 3 of them. And if the shit with Dream not paying fighters is true then there goes dream. Who else is there beside EXC? And they are on thin ice. if the cbs deal goes south then bye bye EXC.

LOL the UFC had nothing to do with the demise of PRIDE. in fact, they could compete well. PRIDE collapsed from the inside.
and dana would still be an aerobics teacher if it weren't for the fertitas.
I'd be interested to see what any average businessman could do with DEEP pockets like that.
Dana has done great things, but he's WAY too pleased with himself.
I also remember Dana being so humble at one time. Talking about how great it'd be towork with all these different orgs. Now he says they're all shit.
One of the brothers stepping in could be 50/50. Could mean what they say, or it could mean they needed a real business man to step in before too many bridges were burned

Pride was fucked from the inside. But in no way were they competing. They would still not compete in the tsates. Look at their PPV numbers here. UFC is branching out in other countries and doing well. Pride couldn't accomplish that outside of Japan. Pride may have stayed afloat, but UFC has always and at least for a very long time will be on top.
yeah the fertitas have deep pockets, but they have even said without Dana they would have never got to where they are with the UFC. Dana had the perfect ideas and business sense for mma. Any other business man with deep pockets will do as well as Mark Cuban. Still won't compete. at least not for some time.

Partially true about pride. Good points.
I just hate all the blind nut hugging of Dana for everything MMA. if you want to thank the main reason, talk to the brothers.

He lost A LOT of money, they were about to sell the company thats how bad they were doing. Another company may not of been blocking his progress but there was a lot else that was.
