I want to talk trash and say GSP would kick Penn's ass, but really either one could win this fight. They both have been training hard and tearing up their current weight classes. They both seem very focused too, but I'd give GSP the slight edge after reading he's been "training to fight an army". I can't see him losing anytime soon.

Penn GSP II would be great.
imo i thought penn got robbed in there first meeting. An since that fight i don't know how much GSP has improved and if this happens we will see how far GSP has come as a fighter against a more dedicated Penn with Cardio. Penn still takes this but i think it would be a much better measureing stick for how good GSP really is then his previous fights
Even if fitch wins i think Penn should move up take on fitch and then GSP or KOS if they can win another fight or two. (if Penn beats fitch which i feel he should)
I would love to see Penn owning both titles for a couple years and then the P4P talk would be much closer between him silva and fedor
War Penn

I don't think Penn deserves an immediate WW title shot. Like I said, I figure Anderson Silva would deserve an immediate title shot @ 205 before Penn deserved one @ 170.
That being said, how fucking badass would GSP/Penn II be?!

He's the LW champion and only really needs to beat one or two more fighters to clear out the top end of his division in the ufc
Hell Randy Got a shot at the hw belt after he lost the lhw belt without fighting anyone

Anyone notice in the press conference video link (first post) that Herring looks way bigger than Brock? Arms and everything..

Only problem Wadokai is that Anderson Silva doesn't want a LHW title shot. He has zero desire. That belt is "for" Machida.
And Penn/GSP II should be a great fight.

Hell Randy Got a shot at the hw belt after he lost the lhw belt without fighting anyone | Randy got a shot when the heavyweight division had no clearcut #1 contender. No one wanted Arlovski/Sylvia 4, Vera was in a contract dispute, Monson had just lost. So it was not only a decent option in that a win for Couture really mixed things up, but a win for Sylvia over Couture gave Sylvia more credibility and bought the division time to find a new #1 contender. It was also a good option as a business move, Randy sold more tickets to that show than anyone else could have.
BJ's a spectacular fighter, and he and GSP would have a fucking war, that every fan would love to see. But there are guys in both divisions that deserve shots at their belts and imo, they shouldn't have to wait because BJ wants to jump around and satisfy his ego.
BJ's said numerous times that he wants to be remembered as the best, he just wants to hold 2 belts simultaneously in the UFC. He's also said numerous times before that he doesn't want to fight a lot in a year, he just wants to fight a couple times, so that he can keep fighting for a longer time in his life. So why would he, who only wants say 2 - 3 fights a year, get a chance to hold both belts? Has he said that'll he'll fight like Anderson Silva and take 5 or 6 fights a year? Can he be a champ in two divisions, juggle the weight and defend constantly?
LW and WW are both stacked, and there'll not be a shortage for a #1 contender in either division for awhile. I don't see why a guy who says he doesn't want to fight too often, should get the opportunity to have an immediate title shot and potentially slow down the title defenses in BOTH divisions. Quote:

i have a feeling that if Fitch wins Dana is not going to allow BJ to move up to fight for the title.

That being said, how fucking badass would GSP/Penn II be?! | I totally agree with you. Problem is in the UFC it doesn't matter if you deserve something or not. It matters what's marketable. In this case, Penn/GSP 2 is way more marketable than GSP vs. anybody in WW.
Does Machida deserve a title shot? Yes, will he get it next? probably not, not too marketable.
