That is a valid point, I think it would just be a statement with Vera showing that he is the best HW and LHW and then releasing one of the belts and staying in the weight division in which he kept the belt.
If you think about it he really has more advantages at LHW as he is what 6'-6" and him fighting as a HW he will be facing guys like Sylvia and AA that are much bigger than him (likely not too much stronger than him as his strength is very deceptive, he is a very strong guy) so I assume that he just wants the biggest possible challenge.
I really hope Pride, K-1 or WFA don't yank him away from the UFC for the UFC's sake of establishing a good HW or LHW division as the HW division is lacking and the LHW will be loosing Chuck in a few years I would guess as he is 39 now.
