Just the video of my latest fight.
There are reasons behind my poor performance but dont want to take anything away from the guy he was tough. Would love to rematch him though as it would be very different.

Thanks for the comments sundance.
I don't want to seem like am making excuses but basically I was ill for the 2 weeks leading up to the fight so my performance was rather lacklustre. Hence the half hearted attempts at rubber guard and the body triangle both of which I could have used to turn him.
Oh and if you note on the sound about the hammer fists it's because they were illegal in the match as it was amateur (don't ask me why I dont know either lol).

anyone who gets in the ring gets my respect. I have found that wrestlers do very well on the amateur level. Your striking looks great. We need to get you some sweet takedowns. Hit me up if you're ever near Albany N.Y.

Yea the fight was at 155, although my opponent only weighed in at around 145 and he was still stronger than opponents I've had at 170.

Yea my kicks weren't very effective I gassed around 3/4 minutes in to the first round so the ones in the second were especially bad.

Also if you watch it yu will see that I don't throw a single right hand in the whole fight, am back in training as of tomorrow - I done something to my knee couldn't walk on it until a couple days ago - so I will be going over this tape with my coach soon to help me improve a lot by next time.

And KnowledgeKnown if I ever make it to NY I'll probably just be happy that America let me in I'm from the UK so training here is obviously not as good - although I have very good coaches in my personal opinion - as some of the places in America but our wrestling coach is a former European champion so some time soon I will learn to wrestle

And obviously once again thanks everyone for the kind comments believe me when I say next time I am going to take an opponent who is at my level (and hasn't fought 11 times more than me and has a national title lol) and I will definitely win - so by KO, submission or UD people which would you prefer?

Good effort man!! Like others have said before me you get my respect just for getting in there. You'll get better for sure.

One question though...what was your opponent doing at the start of the second round?? Kind of looked like he was being disrespectful or mocking you. That's not cool.

Yep tht was my 3rd fight - altho like the others it is only amateur so none of it goes on my record so technically still 0 - 0 *sigh* I should be turning pro early 2010 possibly summer as I'm still at university (or college whatever lol) and I don't want to waste the chance of a good education by missing days due to being hurt and obviously I won't be able to train as I want to due to no good training places around my campus.

And yep the other one with the video was my first fight which I most definitely wasn't ready for lol and that guy was at the time a 170 fighter.

My next fight is hopefully Sept 13th so just enough time to heal up and up my conditioning slightly . Will see how my knee holds up Thursday at wrestling first before I confirm anything though.

You still looked pretty good dude. Props all around to you. Just keep training and you will keep getting better. You have the desire and that goes along friggin way man.


Of course, I want to help and give some advice. With your kicks..

A. Throw it like you mean it. In that I mean, use your hips and pivot that foot which will add much more to the kick

B. Set up your kicks with your punches. Unless you have great timing/speed/power/etc with kicks, your going to have a hard time pulling off effective ones. Feel free to use a fake or feint every now and then to keep the person guessing.

C. If your going to use your lead leg to kick you need to step or preferably switch kick. You're going to get very little on that thing by lobbing it out there. Believe me, switch kicks are very effective and a great KO tool in muay thai. Hell, GSP dropped Hughes with a switch kick in their 2nd fight.

Awesome job man. Kick ass.
