MMA isn't even legal nationwide. How could we have an Olympic team for something that isn't fully legal in all of our states?
Besides that, there wouldn't be too much competition after the US, Japan, and Brazil.

eventually it should. I mean the olympics has Judo, Wrestling and Boxing. Why not offer a hybrid competition--MMA?

In all seriousness yes it should be, or at least Sambo or Pankration.

just cause it's illegal in us doesn't mean it should not be in the olympics.
It's a genuine sport that requires exquisite athletes in order to be successful.

I would like to see Sambo or something like that. MMA doesn't even have the same rules from one country to another, which set of rules would they use?

Not yet. As it matures and becomes worldwide, probably, but when you consider how difficult it is to get tournaments regulated in different places, how it would mess up schedules of fights before hands, how small the pool of fighters is now and how the matchups would be similar to what we see everyday, and how many top fighters would just fight other UFC people, i don't see the use yet. Plus, would Dana even let his fighters fight in an olympics, contractually you'd lose most major world players.

well it kind of already is like the olympics, they fight for paychecks not medals. but if they did which they eventually will, we all know who would bring home heavyweight gold!! i mean mma already is a true international competition.
