If I was Atencio, I'd never give up control of who is offered fights with whom. If that was a sticking point, I'd cut the contract by 2/3rds and say "if you want to fight chumps, you're going to get chump change; if you want champion quality cash, you fight champion quality fighters."
I'd also appeal to his ego in the fact that most of the MMA public--the knowlegable fans, not the ones who are tuning in just to see him lose--are questioning whether he's lost a step or not. Fighting chumps isn't going to answer those questions, fighting quality guys will.
I'd set up fights with Babalu, Arona and Lil Nogs and tell him take it or leave it.
