Couture is currently in exile after walking out midway through his UFC contract and does not wish to return to action unless a bout with WAMMA heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko can be arranged.

Randy really wants his money... I seriously hope that doesnt end up being the hold out point for Randy when it comes to this fight.

I can't stand him the more I hear him talk.
Fedor will crush him into the ground in a matter of seconds and he wants 10 million for that.

I think Randy sucks at math. 700k ppv buys at $20 each after the cable company cut comes out to $14M net income. How are they going to give him and Fedor each 6-10 and pay the bills and still make "a boatload" of money on top
Edit: I think I need to wait until someplace else quotes this as well (from the radio show not from mmamania) I am finding it hard to beleive that even Randy believes those numbers
Edit2: Dammit Couture on Fedor vs Randy Purse: $6 to $10 Million Each : MMAPayout.com: The Business of MMA

Pure lunacy to think he can make that much in a fight. No matter what he thinks, the UFC can't support those kind of numbers for fighter salaries. And if he thinks he will get anywhere close to that outside of the UFC, he is also crazy. The uFC brand has all the leverage at this point. The difference in PPVs if this were to happen in the UFC vs. outside, would probably be around 4 times the PPV buy with the UFC brand.
All these guys are holding out for more money or want to start their own orgs. For the money they want, the only place they are going to get anywhere near it is in the UFC. Affliction is going to shut down, the IFL is gone, Pride is gone, WFA is gone, CBS/EliteXC ratings are crashing. As much as I don't like to admit it, UFC holds the cards. They are the only org in a position set for long term success, that can support the types of salaries that these fighters want. They are not going to get it in these other orgs. Or they will get one or two pay days then the org will go under.

I like how Randy initially told everybody that it really wasnt about the money. Yeah, sure.
The page has a link to the radio interview at: 97.1 FREE FM - Los Angeles - The Adam Carolla Radio Show KLSX
I cant listen now since I'm at work, but one would think that the summary should be accurate since they link to the source.

Hey Randy, someone should tell you that hardly anyone even knows who Fedor is and he's destroyed his goodwill with fans. If and that's a BIG IF, the UFC were to be the ones putting this card on, it may get 500K buys.
Does anyone know what Randy's personal PPV success record is?
