I highly doubt it's anyone within the UFC because 1)Elite isn't likely to let him do it with the UFC and 2)the UFC wouldn't do it unless he was signed to an exclusive agreement with them. | I guess that would rule out a Paulo Filho fight too, as WEC is a UFC affiliate?

Could be Cung Le. He'd be the only "contender" at 185 outside of Elite, WEC, and UFC. The contenders in DREAM are involved in the MW tourney and he wouldn't have to ask permission for them since DREAM and Elite have a partnership.
That would have to be early next year though since Le is taking some time off.

I wouldnt mind seeing that at all.
I think Cung Le would take it though

If it were Cung Le, I think Le would destroy Shields.
So I hope, for his sake, it's not him.

Interesting, I wonder who it would be?? Imagine if the UFC announced they signed Shields to take on Anderson for the belt!! A man can dream cant he lol
No its deffinatly not that, so by his deffinition of "top contender" is prolly someone in the top 10-15, not that exciting IMO. UNLESS hes talking about Affliction and hes gonna fight Belfort or Lindland, then im excited again lol.

Dennis Kang!
I doubt its Mayhem Miller, but that's a fight that could sale.
Wait a day or teo and then ask David Terrell, if you ever want any news on a Gracie fighter, you can bet your ass David Terrell will spill the beans.
He said over there, which I would constitute wouldn't be West Coast, since that is Shields' home. Best bet is Japan. Dream has a working relationship with Pro Elite, and Shields has an extensive background fighting in Japan.

Lindland is fighting Belfort at Affliction 2... Maybe Affliction picked up David Loisseau or Dennis Kang?
