With Lindland though, is he still considered a contender? His fight with Nacimento wasn't very impressive and was coming off a huge layoff after he fought at HW. Plus he's getting old and into politics. When Shields was talking about a contender, at this stage, I wouldn't really think of Lindland as being that anymore.

People sometimes confuse "contender" with "name."
It'd still make for an interesting fight. Anybody know how Shields looks at 185?

Jake is a large WW, but I think Lindland will be a tough tough fight. If Lindland tries to LnP Shields, he'll get tapped out for it. The only anyone is gonna beat Shields is to keep the fight standing.

I also thought that Vitor had a long medical suspension. Im not a Shields fan but Im also not a Lindland fan either. Jake would probly destroy Lindland and get so exposure to fans who might not know who he is. | Medical suspensions aren't absolute. They just mean that if you want to fight before that suspension is up, you have to get the injury cleared by a doctor.

Beating the other would only catapult their careers, and the negatives of losing to either would be minimal.

Pretty sure Jake use to be ranked in the top 10 at MW a while ago.
