| RUMOR:MMAbay says Rampage/Wandy Set for UFC 91 in November mmabay Quote:
UFC 91 - “Rampage” Jackson vs Wanderlei Silva Mmabay have learned from a very reliable source that the main event for the yet to be announced November show, UFC 91, will be between former UFC light heavyweight champion, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Wanderlei “The Axe Murderer” Silva.
Although no location has been determined for the event to take lace at this time, the UFC have been busy in putting together one of the biggest and most anticipated matches in UFC history. Both have aspirations of getting into the title mix and this fight, although very dangerous for both will greatly propel the winner up the ranks for a possible shot next year.
Although coming off a loss and suffering personal problems, Jackson is back in the gym with a new trainer and working hard to be in shape for this one. He will need to be, as he’s faced Silva twice before and was dominated both times. Silva himself has seemingly shaken his losing streak with the kind of performance we are used to against Keith Jardine in May, knocking him out in the first round.

I know theres been reports of Rampage/Shogun for UFC 90 or 91, but MMAbay seems to have an inside source thats telling them it will be Rampage/Wandy.
Its on a half decent website, Its on the Sherdog threads as well, its as a posters "Very Reliable Source" saying Rampage/Wandy will happen instead of Rampage/Shogun. They seem to be pushing for Page to make an appearance one more time this year and my money is on a Wandy or Shogun rematch.
Could be a heads up, could be nothing, take it for what its worth.

I call bullshit just based on the fact that Wand has said several times hes not fighting again till Dec. I personally dont want to see this fight its a bad move for Rampage he needs to get an easy win under his belt to get back to where he was mentally

I hate this fight right now. They are my two favorite fighters and i dont want to see either one of them lose right now. Oh well it will be a good fight though. I think this fight would be a whole lot better if one of them was the champ and this was a title fight.

idk, but id rather see Shogun/Rampage only cuz ive just recently become a fan of Wand...and ive always been a fan of Rampage, so id have to pull for Page, but wouldnt wanna see Wand lose either. not just yet.
now ive never liked Shogun, and id love to see Rampage get some revenge on him but either way, both tough fights for Rampage.
WAR RAMPAGE either way!!!

He has tore up Quinton both times it is not like it is a rubber match or anything. Hey how about we have Nog fight Herring again too. and How about another GSP Hughes fight and then to finish it off we can have Sherk fight Karo we will call it UFC 91 "Waste of Time" that would be great!!

I'd like to see this fight. I think Rampage has a chance of winning it, and that the odds for the fight should be fairly even. This isn't Japan and the outcomes of fights in the UFC of former Pride fighters have been quite varied. Wandy has won 5 out of 10 fights since fighting Rampage, and Rampage has won 7 of 9 since then. The argument that the winner of the fight is somehow predetermined isn't convincing, IMO. I can understand, however, that fans don't want to see either fighter lose at this point in their respective careers. What's important, though, is that a win would be great for both. If Wandy destroys Rampage, like he has in the past, he has a very strong argument for a title shot, or for being close to next in line. If Rampage wins he has redeemed himself against Silva and has made a statement for having righted himself physically and mentally and can possibly barter for a rematch with Forrest or a title shot against the new champ if there is one by that time. If it is a three round war it is a win for the fans, not to mention that the UFC can market the shit out of this match up.

The only way this fight would make sense is if it was a title fight.

When Wand tears him a new asshole again we will be exactly where we are now except people will think even less of page.

I see this as what could possibly be a great matchup, but just looking at the last few months that these fighters have been active tells me Wand may just obliterate Jackson if they fight before the end of the year. It's too bad, really. I just don't think you can beat Wanderlei if you aren't mentally prepared.
Then again, I wouldn't mind seeing Wanderlei fight him. He has said Rampage is the only guy he just doesn't like in MMA. Jackson could also use another loss to further his rehabilitation. Right now he seems to be sending the signal that everything's going great. If he thinks things are going great for him he's not right in the head.
