If I were Cote, I would be asking Rich right now for the number of the surgeon who performed his facial reconstruction..

Anderson Silva is one of my favourite fighters, and it's painfully obvious why. He's, imo, the #1 P4P in the world and dominates the opposition. As much as I love Silva though, i'll be rooting for Cote to win. If you're a Canadian, you would love to see GSP and Cote hold the Welterweight and Middleweight belts, respectively.
Do I think Cote will win? No.
Do I think he has a chance? Yes, but it's very slim.

A heavy handed striker always has a chance. Cote definitely has a chance to beat Silva. Silva could come in a little flat footed, a little less sharp than normal, dance a little bit less to avoid punches, be a little bit less accurate or quick than usual and wake up looking at Herb Dean for his troubles.
But it's really that straightforward - it's entirely Anderson's fight to lose if he doesn't come in like he normally comes in. If he does come in like normal, Cote actually does have zero chance to win

Id think that if having his face messed up is all he'll have after this fight he'll be lucky. He's not yet mentioned the broken/fractured ribs, blurred vision, the headaches, nights of sleeplessness due to the reoccuring nightmares of Silva's knees or the internal bleeding. Poor Cote.

You won't be happy come UFC 90, someday Silva will lose a fight trust me he will, it just won't be to a clown like Cote. Try to better govern the ebb and flow in your brain.

I don't think Cote winning would be a bigger upset than Serra submitting GSP to strikes. I've got Anderson 90/10.
I will also be bitterly disappointed if Silva moves up to LHW before defending against Okami if Yushin is healthy enough come January. Cote has no business getting a title shot, it's just as bad as giving one to Mir.

I think Cote has a chance to be the first one to last 3 rounds with Silva in the UFC. | the guy couldnt knock out leben; and leben has a solid chin but we all saw what anderson did to him.
I think this fight goes the same way; and cote is going to be shocked when he feels how hard anderson hits.

I just think it is funny that Anderson has done such a great job at cleaning out the middleweight division that Patrick Cote is now the #1 contender (Well behind Yushin Okami). When he beats Cote and if he beats Okami he may have to consider more fights at lhw. The middleweight division could get a little boring just a couple fights from now.

The middleweight division could get a little boring just a couple fights from now. | If he beats Cote, and then defends against Okami, you just might have a few more matchups for Silva at MW by then. If Hendo wins his next fight, then wins again, you could see a rematch.
If Bisping beats Leben, he could be either a contender, or one fight away from it.
Thales Leites has 4 wins in a row in the Octagon, including the split against Marquardt, so he could also be in the mix.
Don't forget 9-0 Demian Maia, who just beat Macdonald.
