Default FEG makes new distribution deal for DREAM/K-1

FEG/Dream Cut New Deal

August 19, 2008

MP & Silva agree new rights deal

Sports marketing agency, MP & Silva (MPS) has agreed to a five-year deal with Fighting and Entertainment Group (FEG Inc.)to become its exclusive worldwide media rights partner from 2009 to 2013.

Under the deal, MP & Silva acquires the international distribution rights (except Japan, South Korea, and the United States of America) to events organized by FEG Inc., including K-1 – one of the world’s largest and most popular kickboxing and martial arts series – and DREAM, a mixed martial arts (MMA) series.

Andrea Radrizzani, Chief Executive Officer of MPS, said: “We are pleased to reinforce our relationship with FEG through this new deal, and excited to extend our partnership to cover the rest of the world. We are very confident that in five years we will not only be able to further propel the popularity of K-1 and DREAM in Europe, but we are also bullish that we are capable of growing its visibility and overall demand for FEG’s events in other emerging markets.”

The agreement marks the second time that MPS has teamed up with FEG Inc. after the agency helped K-1 and FEG’s previous MMA series, K-1 HERO'S, establish and expand its international footprint to over 135 countries.
This does not affect their HDNet and TBS deals in the US/Japan, but it could mean greater access in places like Canada and the UK/Europe. I know we have some brits (and a lot of canucks), and this could mean more MMA on free TV for us

Hopefully this helps them financially get back on track so they don't go under. DREAM has the best production in MMA and I rather enjoy the free shows in GLORIOUS HIGH DEFINITION!

Is it even available in Canada?

The Fight Network already has K-1 and HERO'S, hopefully this means they will become the Canadian carrier of DREAM

They used to show PRIDE on Eurosport back around 2005, that was sweet, even if was like once a week.

I have Bell ExpressVu and as far as I know HDnet is unavailable, I know its available with some other providers

Watching DREAM on TV at 3 am would be a little better than catching the stream

EDIT: i just searched and DID find HDnet in one of the channel packages

Default great news

Dream on free TV in the UK would be awesome news, we get all the UFC shows free which is pretty sweet, plus the likes of TKO and some SHoXC shows on the fight network, apparently Affliction was meant to be on Bravo but they pulled out at the last minute. Dream would be ideal.
