UFC 90 Closing In On A Sell-out
By Matthew Brothers | August 19, 2008
The Allstate Arena Box Office is reporting that although the event is more than two months away, UFC 90 is nearing sell-out status already. The news comes as a delight to Dana White and the UFC brass who have been unable to sell-out in recent months in places such as Minneapolis and Columbus.
Initital reports peg ticket sales at more than 15,000 with a projected gate already exceeding $2 million. The Allstate Arena holds roughly 19,000.
The event, which will be held just outside of Chicago in Rosemont, Ill., features a main event of the seemingly invincible UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson "Spider" Silva taking on challenger Patrick "The Predator" Cote. Also, in a match that will most definitely have title implications, Thiago Alves who is fresh off a victory against Matt Hughes, will face off against Diego "Nightmare" Sanchez. The winner is rumored to be next in line for Georges St. Pierre's welterweight title. It will be the first UFC event to happen in Illinois.
| This is going to be a very good card... There are getting to be far too many good cards out there for me to keep buying, but that isn't always a bad thing.

If they sell out in minutes in Montreal but tickets are still for sale in Chicago, seems kinda strange.

This would have been a good card to put AA on, he fights out of Chicago
Oh well!! Still looks amazing.
Most of the Montreal tickets were bought by scalpers, weren't they? This whole ticket sold-out situation is negligable, with the scalper factor added in
