|  New Rule: No Negative Political Avatars or Signatures
Due to the problems we have had recently. We have decided to ban all negative political signatures and avatars.
You can still have a sig or avatar that supports a candidate but you cannot have one that is against a candidate.
Hopefully this will be enough to stop the arguments as we get closer to the election.
As of 6pm tomorrow(8-21-08), we will begin removing any avatars that are against the rules without notification, so please change them before then.
This isn't to punish anyone, but to make the forum a better place for people who want to discuss MMA.

I think that the new rule is a bit extreme, though I haven't felt the need to advertise my political leanings in an AV or Sig. Being that there is a specific forum for political discussions I suppose the prohibition is an acceptable means to avoiding the ridiculous conflicts that have been arising in the past few days.

props to you Clint I wouldnt mind if No political av's or sigs altogether but this should take care of most of the problems. This is a damn MMA site for fucks sake and ontop of that it has a political section so please please let the General Forum of MMAnews.com be one place I can go to get away from this never ending parade of bullshit. Thanks again.

There's so much allowance for political sigs without going negative...if all you have to say about a candidate is "Depends brand diapers supports John McCain" or "Hussein Obama: choice of the Middle East" then you don't deserve to vote or have a sig.
