The key to NASCAR advertising is getting the car TV time that has the ad. That's not going to happen with Waltrip or any of his cars

Well I agree that it would help if it wasn't a crappy team. It still helps them get more fans because it will be seen by about 100k fans live on race day and a couple million more nationally. Yeah would it be a better deal if it was lets say the Busch car? Of course. But at least it is out there and people will see it. And if they are lucky their car will get mentioned once or twice during the race. Because Nascar ALWAYS mentions the sponser when talking about the driver and his car.

First off I should have read that better. I didn't realize they would be the primary sponsor of the car. your point is valid.

ALso, I didn't know Mike Skinner was the driver. He's a craftsman truck series driver. I figured it was one of the regular go nowhere waltrip team.

Usually the only time you see one of their cars is when they're being lapped, or they crash

I know that it costs about 20 million to sponsor a nascar race car for one season. I wonder what the cost was to advertise this on a one day event? I know it's been getting popular for movies to do that on opening day.

Yeah they are the "hood" sponser. As in the main one for that race. Kind of a big deal but the WWE beat them to it a long ass time ago.

Well, just as I guessed. lol There was a total of about 6 seconds of the 4 hour race that accidentally caught the 00 car as he was being lapped. the shot wasn't on him thouhg, and even though I knew what the sponsor was I couldn't read or see it.

The guy never got highet than 30th place, started 36th and was one of the first cars to go a lap down.

If they paid more than 100 bucks it was a failure

It still amazes me that believe people watch NASCAR, Baseball was bumped from its normal Sunday night ESPN slot to ESPN2 for NASCAR.
MLB taking a backseat to NASCAR wow.
