what i wanna know is why so many people think that lindland is silva's kryptonite. they've never fought before and neither fighter is that much more impressive than the other. sure, i think lindland can beat silva, but i also think silva can beat lindland. and even after his poor performance, i really think franklin can beat him as well. years ago i would have LOVED to see lindland as ufc mw champ, but not this time. franklin's my favorite fighter but i will pull for silva against anyone leading up to the rematch
war silva, war.

A lot of people have said that Franklin hasnt been tested and that he isnt that impressive (and yes this was said before the Silva fight). So if Rich would have won, he would have proved himself against a true striker. Since Rich lost, Dana comes off as the guy who is going to go and find the best fighters (or at least great fighters) to bring to the UFC. He'll find a way to market Silva, if for no other reason than most fans want to see standing wars and not lay and prays.

Dana sets up fight with his champions having an 80%+ chance of victory (in his mind and it is the case for the most part, obviously not fo rhte Silva fight) so he had no idea Silva would tool Franklin like that was thinking quite the oposite would happen.
For the UFC, this is one of the worst things if not he worst to happen since they became so popular. The other being AA losing to Sylvia, that hurt as well but not as much as having their most promoted fighter and 2nd most popular fighter (Chuck being #1) being defeated by someone none of the noobies even know.

Hasn't the UFC been in talks with Lindland for awhile now?? I heard this even before Rich was beaten by Silva. UFC will start shelling out the money for higher caliber fighters soon enough. They have really waited for way too long now. But, with Pride now gaining a bigger fan base in the US, Dana will have to get more respected names in the HW, LHW, and MW divisions at least.

dana white is kinda of a jerk. i mean, he praises hughes too much. after his "win" vs bj penn he was saying how he's "never fucking seen anything like hughes" lol. i bet he feels like a dumbass now knowing penn was hurt. lol. i dont know why he hates silva. cuz he's not american? or from pride? whatever the reason is, silva is still gonna spank lindland hehehe.

I dont think this will happen but I've been wrong before. | I might be able to imagine some incentive laden contract for Lindland if he wins. I am just making up numbers here but something like 20K for the fight and and extra 60K if he wins or something. I don't know. Either way, this would be ridiculous in my opinion, but not necessarily out of the realm of possibility. But the fact that after all this time, they are just now contacting Lindland, within two weeks of Silva winning, speaks volumes about Dana's intentions.
