Default The reason the UFC is looking at Lindland?

It will all depend if Dana wants to spend the extra cash, or have a champion that doesn't fit in his image of the UFC. Dana really wants to build up his own MMA world, and when Silva beat Franklin I think he saw the image of the UFC start to fall apart. I think it kinda dirty thing to do to sign Lindland right after his poster boy get beat by the evil Brazilian I didn't see Lindland being approached when Rich was champ. It seems that he wants to get that belt off of Silva as soon as possible and try and get the UFC looking the way it wants it to look, with Champions that the North American audience will relate to better. If Lindland is signed and fights Silva quick, you know Dana is trying everything he can to get the belt off Silva. If he signs Matt it will not be for the fans, but because he wants Matt to knock off Silva asap. If Rich won, would this Lindland even be considered at this time in the UFC.

Obviously not as Lindland was a former UFC fighter that they fired and left on bad temrs.

If the fight does happen it is going to be ridiculous as McCarthy is going to have been instructed before the fight to allow the lay and prey by Lindland so when there is no action on the ground, it will not be stood up right away just so they can try and get Lindland to rack up points in order to defeat Silva.

Silva is a bright guy, I'm sure he and his trainers know what is going on and he is probably pissed. I hope he KO's Linland in 46 seconds of rd 1.

The fact that SIlva gave his speech about how greatfull he was to haev finally made it to the UFC and how excited he was to be there let alone to be champion and the UFC is saying "fuck you because you're Brazillian and speak Portugese", we don't want you as our champion.

Dana White seriously does need to be shot and I don't say that about many people.

Could it just be that they want to build up their MW division, especially now that Lindland has an even bigger name after the razor-thin loss to Rampage and a Horn win?

Naaa....it must be a conspiracy.

Lindland is a quality opponent, and I would like to see him in the UFC. However I dont think Dana will want to put out the extra money, and Lindland is not going to sell himself short and except less money then he would make working w/ the other smaller orgs.(IFL, WFA). I dont think this will happen but I've been wrong before.

UMMM.... Are you even serious?

Lindlands fight against Rampage was when? Why would they JUST NOW look to build their MW division and not immediately after the Rampage fight (yes yes, it is because Franklin just lost, now it;s time to rebuild, right)? Why would Dana preech that they are going to keep making international pickups and then go after an American fighter?

Why is it that EVERY MMA website wrote an article immediately follwing the Silva victory that entailed the UFC POSSIBLY going after Hendo or Lindland to dethrown Silva?

Are you really that stupid man?

UFC does need some new blood in the MW. There is absolutely no one that is worthy of watching. I will say it again, Swick is just utter crap and he has no idea his career can be ended by that one fatal fight (not physically but his career at UFC).

I don't think UFC will shell out enough money to lure Lindland. In any case, I do think Dana doesn't want Silva to have that belt. Dana wants to control everything that goes on at UFC, and i wouldnt be surprised if Dana has something up his sleeve to get silva out as a champion. Especially with Lindland ranked as #1 in whatever rankings, as long as Lindland is a champ at UFC, they can claim to have the best fighters in all but HW and LW division of MMA.

Which are all created by UFC nughuggers... WHat has Lindland sone to secure a #1 spot at MW? A win over Horn (big deal, Silva did that as well) and a LOSS to Rampage. Yeah he's the best in the world at MW.

Filho would tool him. He would do well against strikers such as Silva, Kang and Franklin, possibly Hendo now that Hendo is starting to slow down but I would still lean towards Hendo.

Why buy Lindland? Dana can just exile Silva and feed some bullshit story to the fans about him 'walking away from the UFC' or 'breaching his contract'.

Clearly he wants Lindland in order to stack the division and have some competative fights.

Hahahahahaha just kidding - Dana is a **** and and cares far more about $ than about the integrity of his 'sport' organization. The end.

git.

Ha. I never thought about that "Contract dispute" option. I think Silva signed a three fight contract and he will be up for renewal very soon. I think they add three more fights automatically when someone becomes a champion. All Dana has to do is just dont offer him the money and make him walk away. Then have Lindland, the olympian, take over as a new champ. Afterall, after Franklin lost, I dunno who would think of him as a true champ if doesnt get the opportunity to fight silva again. There you go. Dana wants a new American champ and Lindland is it. haha.
