Sounds like a lose lose for Randy, if it's true.

It's obvious the window is closing on his career, otherwise he wouldn't be trying to get out of his contract with the UFC to have one last fight.
Lesnar - Couture would be a huge draw but their pay still pales in comparision to what guys are getting paid in Affliction. Lesnar is a dangerous fight just due to his sheer power. Fedor is dangerous too but it would pay multiple times what a Lesnar fight in the UFC would. He's not looking to fight up in the UFC anymore, he wants one last fight and that fight alone would make him more than both of those UFC fights combined. There's a reason he's been MIA and not fighting and that's it. | That is why I put Lesnar's name ahead of Nogs, Lesnar first then Nog, you see? Even after fighting Lesnar, if he got Nog next and had to wait, it would probably still happen before a Fedor fight.
Lesnar/Couture would be a huge draw, there is nothing that says Couture would make more money to fight Fedor than Lesnar. UFC would probably give Couture the world if he agreed to fight Lesnar.

Lesnar/couture is a FAR bigger fight then couture/fedor.
Couture/fedor will primarily only draw in hardcore fans and a few casual fans...
While lesnar/couture would draw in TONS of casual fans, and the hardcore fans watch no matter what. This fight could potentially beat tito/chuck II ppv buys. Therefore its a way bigger money fight.

If you look at all the fighter pay salaries for the last few UFC cards vs the last Affliction card you will see what Im talking about. The UFC could have paid Couture more to keep him happy a long time ago but they want him to fulfill his contract and get paid what he signed on to get paid. Besides, the guy is what 45 years old? He just made a movie, which I guarantee he didnt lose any money making. He's got a book out which I guarantee he's not losing any money on. On top of that he is a marketable and well known name. Even though Brock would be a huge fight the guy only has 3 MMA fights. He's far from one of the best fighters in the world at this point and on the other hand Fedor is arguably the best.
The Brock fight makes dollars. The Fedor fight makes dollars and sense. I rest my case.

I don't see how they could do that to old Randy. He has trouble with really big HWs'. And Lesner can out wrestle him. Randy has good sub defence but, I don't remember how well he does on kneebars and stuff. Thats the way guys are gonna have to fight Lesner. His size and power are a problem if you cant use them against him. I think Brock takes this, with the same gameplan as his last fight.

It could be close to as big as the Fedor fight, doubtful bigger, and no way it would much bigger.
Couture has incredible name recognition and Fedors is growing by the minute. Besides, Fedor-Couture fight would be to establish who is the best heavyweight in the world hands down. That fact alone would have eyeballs from all around the world. Fedor is huge in Japan and overseas. The marketing possibilites are far greater and will reach much further than the Lesnar fight. Let us not forget that there is a world outside of the United States haha.

If Randy does come back to the UFC it could be the most anticlimatic thing to happen in the history of mixed martial arts. What top HW does he have a chance to beat in or out of the UFC? Quote:

Most of the hardcore, including myself, know Fedor is #1, Nog 2 and believe Randy is avoiding a fight with Nog before he fights Fedor.

And I agree Randy is avoiding a fight with Nog. If he lost to Nog he would lose his claim to fight Fedor. Think about if he lost to Brock and all his lack-of-experience what it would do to his chances of fighting Fedor. Though I think Fedor would win, its still a better fight than Couture vs Nog or Brock
