All of his legal drama aside and the specter of old age gaining more solidity over his shoulder every day, there aren't a lot of fighters who are better at tying up fighters and using the cage than Randy. I don't think Couture has a lot of chance to actually stop Werdum, but I think he's an odds-on favorite to win a decision.

I see where youre coming from and I agree that probably the only way Randy can win that fight is by decision but I think Werdum would win this fight via submission.
Randy doesnt have that great of stand up. Since Werdum has been training with Chute Boxe and has been very aggressive as of late, not to mention his reach advantage, I would give him the edge in stand up. I dont think Randy would stand with him very long.
Randy's obvious advantage would be his wrestling. When he's in danger on the feet, he would probably tie Werdum up and get a takedown.
I think we all know how good Werdum is on the ground....
I just cant see really where Couture would have an edge. Yea I guess he could tie up Werdum and hold him against the cage for the whole fight.
Werdum is still super dangerous off of his back. and if he gets a reversal or happens to take Randy down, then its over.
Werdum by submission imo
