Yes, they did, but I'm still underwhelmed. I hate it when fighters talk more than they actually fight; and this is worse. This is clearly a spokesperson who was selected to respond to overhype drama.
Yes, he hit some of his points home, but it's kind of like shooting fish in a barrel. Noons has exactly one big win in his resume; a cut win over Diaz. Anyone who thinks Noons is any more than a one-hit wonder needs to see more of his fights. Diaz's fighting style [walk forward, eat a lot of punches to set up the counter, hoping to revisit the elusive Lawler KO] is tailor-made for Noons to set up points, and even though I would actually favor Noons in a rematch [staying elusive and outpointing--but never actually hurting--Nick] I'm tired of the drama.
Just fight and get it over with.
And make no mistake--if Noons actually catches a fight with Alvarez, is fifteen minutes of fame are OVER.
All manner of men came to work for the News: everything from wild young Turks who wanted to rip the world in half and start all over again -- to tired, beer-bellied old hacks who wanted nothing more than to live out their days in peace before a bunch of lunatics ripped the world in half.
