But what makes that bad is, if he does become champ who does he face then.

“Yes, we were looking for a title shot. But just the way that it all worked out, it was going to be a while before he gets a title shot. Lyoto wanted to stay busy, and once again, being a business, I understand why they put this fight together

The UFC wants Chuck Liddell to be the champion because they want to milk him for all he's worth before he retires.
In the mean time the current true number one contender has to keep taking care of all the tough contenders and risking his title shot that he should have by now.

Machida is overrated. I hope he gets fuckin smashed by Thiago, and everyone else he ever fights.
The end.

He's earned it, especially if he wins!

I think the only way Liddell could win is if he keeps combinations coming. His pushing jab to overhand right isn't gonna be anything Machida hasn't seen before. I can't recall anyone actually going technical on him. I wonder if Machida would drop to 185.

It would suck if somehow Thiago beat Machida and he was dropped all the way back down the ladder. That would suck for Machida after all of that hard work.
and I agree with what Dork said.
I dont get why they booked this fight in the first place. Both fighters have a pretty fair claim to top contender and having them face each other is just kicking one of them right off the ladder.
Thats just one less opponent for Machida once he is the champ. If you keep making him take care of all the top contenders then he will have no one to fight once he has the belt.

There's no way that Machida will have no one to fight if he wins the championship belt. Plus, you never know whose style will be a real problem for such a technical fighter. Wanderlei comes to mind as a possibility. We also don't know how he'd match up against Forrest.

After seein Forrest finish Shogun, and outwork Rampage, I wouldn't bet against him if he fought Machida.
I'm not just sayin that cuz I can't stand Machida, I honestly think Forrest comes from a better camp, has more heart, and has fought a better quality of opponents.
