| How far will Couture go???
It's rumored that Couture could be fighitng Lesnar, then winner of mir/nog, and then fedor.
Do you think that Randy can win all of those fights, will he loose before Fedor?
Though Randy is a great fighter with great gameplans. I personally think he is one of the most overrated fighters in the UFC. Case and point made by looking at his most recent 5 fights:
- Gabriel Gonzaga (tko win): Contreversial headbut aside, Gonzaga has really not demonstrated that he is a contendor aside from the cro cop fight. And has been unable to replicate that success.
- Tim Sylvia (decision win): It took Couture 5 rounds to do what Nog did in 3 and what Fedor did in a matter of seconds. Obviously this does not mean that Randy couldn't beat either of them. But it demonstrates their finishing ability and how dangerous both of them are. Not to mention Brandon Vera with a broken hand was able to take Sylvia to a decision.
- Liddell (2 KO losses): Couture came back at heavyweight after getting fucked up by Liddell twice, I give Dana props everytime he makes this point and though it seems the Couture has been dominant in his recent fights, really it's only 2 fights and is 3/5 out of the most recent fights.
- Mike Van Arsdale: good fight but is this fight at 205 really relevant when considering the likes lesnar and nog.
Lesnar is a fucking aminal who's greatest strength also happens to be Couture's. This is a very fucking difficult fight for Couture. As far as I'm concerned Couture and Nog go head to head for number 2 HW in the world. This is what pissed me offf about the whole Couture situation. How can he say Fedor is the only fight that makes sense when he hasn't proven he is the number 2?
How far do you think Couture will go?

I agree with your analysis of Couture vs. Lesnar and if by some chance he wins ( I don't think he will be able to handle Lesnar's strength but has way more experience so there is his chance ) he will get mauled by Nog or Fedor ( whoever he faces next )

Well for starters couture is a better wrestler then Brock however Brock has like 50 pounds on Couture so in my opinion if couture can come in for this fight around 240 I see him winning I think he can handle a 25 pound disadvantage but 50 is a bit much. As for nog or mir I personally think it will be an easy win for couture these are fight where size wont be an issue and he can come up with a perfect game plan for these guys with the skill set he has (i see both these fights going the same as the gonzaga fight ) As for Fedor I wouldn't count couture out but I kinda thinking he just gonna be to old and burned out and I dont think its gonna happen anyways but could u imagine if he beat brock and Nog and couldn't fight Fedor that would be sad because that would truly be the two best heavyweights in the world and it would be a fight that would need to happen

I can't see him beating Lesnar, how is he going to control him? He's got the best chance of beating Mir, but Mir isn't going to get past Nog. Obviously me and Randy both think that he can't beat Nog, why else is he running from him? If he beats Nog and Lesnar back to back then maybe, just maybe I'll say he might, just might be able to deliver his half of the fight that the whole world's been waiting for, as it stands right now he's smart enough to outlast Sylvia, but he'd get mauled. WAR fulfilling your obligations with little bitching!!!!!!

as much as i want to see fedor woop him, i dont see him even getting past lesnar. Randy's game is greco roman and all he does is hold you against the fence and i really cant see him muscling lesnar there and holding him.

Wow i don't know how to vote this seems like such an up hill battle for any fighter to take on. Thats alot of hoops to jump thru. I put him past Lesnar just because i want that to happen but not past Nog (who really has Mir winning) or Fedor if some how he did win all three he would have to go down as The greatest MMA HW champion of all time just on those three wins.
That would be like the Cubs winning the series Looting and rioting would ensue. If he takes the first two i'm buying a large truck or cargo van just in case.

I think Randy can beat Lesnar, like Gurry said, he's not going to turtle up like Herring. I think it's 50/50 on him beating Nog.(Yes, i'm just assuming he'll beat Mir) The roadblock will be Fedor. I don't see any possible way Randy wins that fight.
