| Ramma's Fighter of the Month Poll (August)
It’s that time of the month. It is time for you guys to vote. Who was the best fighter in the month of August?
Things to remember:
1. You should vote on who you believe performed the best in the month.
2. You shouldn’t vote on who you believe is the best fighter. This is not a favorite fighter poll either.
3. Feel free to explain your choice (especially if you picked “Other”) or question the choice of others. Debate Away! But debate with some tact and intelligence.
4. For those who have trouble picking a fighter: measure the quality of the opponent he/she beat, how often was he/she dominant, did he/she finish the fight, did he/she beat the other fighter at his/her own game, etc.
5. Do you think a fighter who lost or an unlisted fighter had the best performance? Select the other option.
July Results (83 Votes)
Last Month’s Winner: Fedor Emelianenko (45 Votes: 54.22% of the Votes)
Last Month’s Runner-Up: Forrest Griffin (23 Votes: 27.71% of the Votes)

I went with Lesnar only because he handled a veteran of the sport. The match wasn't even close and it was total domination. The only flaw is that Lesnar showed a great lack of experience by refusing to take his back, and advantage of certain positions. At the same time, it was also a smart move. Being as green as he is, attempting to take Herrings back could have backfired, and the fight may have ended differently. Good job by Lesnar.
I would have GSP in second, proving that he was able to defend the belt by dominating Fitch in everyway.

In all fairness, that wasn't the Gomi we're used to seeing.

Shit lol, I totally forgot about the event. Oops.
I wouldn't say Gomi put on a great performance to begin with.

GSP is an obvious choice imo considering his performance and the quality of fighter he was facing. I thought GSP was going to win the fight, but I had no idea it was going to be the five round ass kicking that it turned out to be. We got to see GSP perform a little bit in all areas of mma in that fight, and he did well in every area. Cudos to GSP
I can see making a case for Kenny Florian too. He fought a very strategic fight against Huerta, plus that leg sweep/trip was awesome. Kenny fought a great fight, but he didn't dominate in the way that GSP dominated imo.
edit: completely looked over Brock Lesnar. I'd say he's number 1 or 2 on the list.

Kenny Florian. I had every confidence that he would beat Huerta, but he made it look easy. Kicking his leg out from underneath him and outboxing him really separated him from the others in the poll for me.
If I had a runner-up it would be Brock Lesnar. At the rate he's improving he'll be moving up the ladder steadily.
