I usually don't agree with Dan but this time I do. I don't see Affliction being around much longer. I see them closing shop early to mid 2009.
Not true they had to compete with Pride at the time Zuffa bought them. Shooto and Pancrase before that.

Nah Bobby it just seems like every tom Dick and harry has been a fan sense the start and use that an excuse to bash something. So I usually call that person out. I like the cage too but bashing on the ring just because they have been watching the UFC sense 1843 is not a reasonable argumentation for why it is not good. The guy could have actually put some good reasons for his debate but he didn't.

I fail to see where standing up for myself, and not being a sheep, is me having a chip on my shoulder. I am here to talk MMA, but I'm not going to be talked down to, or insulted and just take it.

I know that fucks with some of the fragile egos around here, and that's fine by me. I'll go grab my troll suit, and we can rock out with our cocks out.

Randy know that they are going down so why stick with a company that is uncertain of its future. Go UFC! Comon Fedor!

I have to think Randy is more concerned with the fact that he's RIIIIIIIIIGHT at the twighlight of his career, and the UFC could drag his battle out for years. All the while he has to throw money at the lawyers. It's a losing cause. he had nothing to begin with, and was just hoping they'd let him out.

bermensch The UFC did not have to compete with anything in the U.S. that was superior to it at the time it had to compete with the image it had already made for it self and had to change peoples opinions.

Affliction is trying to grab market share from one the biggest company going right now. Its like a new company trying to compete with walmart all the while walmart is trying to put them out of business its gonna be an uphill battle where 8 out of 10 who try to take on the big boys will fail

I hope it is not the case and i did get the last affliction PPV. I hope to get others as well. as long as they are worth it.

i have watched the ufc go from blood sport to just a sport and its been great but i loved Pride even more. It was a great mix of showmanship and great fights (something about the ring compared to cage helped to). I hope affliction can make it i would love to see them compete with the ufc

They will live or die by a television deal.
I think the general thought is that Tito's past his prime so that might make Affliction actually look bad to diehard fans.
As far as Affliction, I think they can do it if they continue bringing in big names as they don't have to start the sport or build anyone up like the UFC had to do.

WTF are you talking about? PRIDE had the best rules suited for the sport of MMA. 10 minute first round, soccer kicks/stomps and knees to the head.... I HATE the watered down UFC rules. I do agree that the cage is better for MMA tho.
