| Liddell willing to fight Couture at HW Liddell willing to fight Couture at heavyweight Posted by MMAFighting.com 09/05/08—11:47 AM
If this was posted, I missed it. If Chuck became HW champ think of the potential matchups. Quote:
Chuck Liddell is always down for a fight, even one involving someone he's fought three times already. According to a report from The Canadian Press, Liddell is willing to move up to heavyweight to challenge for Couture's belt.
"If he gets the title back, I wouldn't mind coming up and getting the heavyweight title too,'' Liddell told the CP on Wednesday.
Liddell won two out of three against Couture. Liddell lost the first at UFC 43 but came back to twice knock out Couture at UFC 52 and 57.
A fourth encounter will have to wait though. Couture will fight Brock Lesnar in Nov. and if he wins, he'll fight the winner of Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Frank Mir early next year. Liddell will fight Rashad Evans this Saturday as he tries to climb back into the UFC light-heavyweight title picture.
Couture and Liddell were the first coaches on the hit series "The Ultimate Fighter" on Spike TV, which aired Jan. to April 2005 and is credited with saving the UFC.

cant say i wouldnt mind seeing it but chuck doesnt deserve it. hes not the champion at 205, and jumpin up to hw and fighting for the title [if randy still has it] is unfair to other contenders.

I agree 100%. I'd love to see the fight of course, but it would be screwing other more deserving contenders such as Werdum.

That takes a lot of balls to say that against a 45 year old man, who has been inactive for over a year and you've already beaten twice. He wasn't talking that kind of shit when he destroyed GG. That's almost like if Frankilin does well at 205 and be comes champ Anderson calls him out.

I am having problems with threads not loading and on occasion my screen goes blank with only the mma news header bar on it. Is there anything I can do?
Mine is doing the same thing.

As strong as Randy looked in his return fights, I doubt the outcome would be any different at HW. Chuck's just a bad matchup for Randy...he'd outstrike him on the feet, and nobody's taking him down.
This likely won't happen, though, for reasons already covered.

Chuck being Chuck. He doesnt say that about any other HW. The only reason he is saying this is cause he beat Rand 2 out of 3 times. Why dont you step up to HW and fight Brock or Fabricio?? Not that Chuck even would deserve a title shot since he hasnt ever fought a HW. He would just want a hand picked oppenent like Randy that he thinks he can beat so that he can be like Randy and have won a belt in 2 different weight classes.
Of course it is Chuck and he gets whatever he wants. I dont see Randy beating Brock and Big Nog though.

When Randy was active if he would have wanted to fight HW that would have been the time to start talking about a HW campaign. Now it seems like everybody is counting out Captain America again, myself included. Randy did look better at HW than LHW so maybe that's why he didn't say this before.
