| Swick vs Goulet at Ultimate Fighter 8 Finale Quote:
Ultimate Fighting Championship welterweights Mike Swick and Jonathan Goulet have agreed to fight on the finale of season eight of The Ultimate Fighter on Dec. 13, according to Goulet’s manager, Ken Pavia of MMA Agents.
The bout will be Swick’s third since making the move from the middleweight division down to 170 pounds. He is 2-0 in his new weight class, defeating both Josh Burkman and Marcus Davis by decision, but hasn’t yet found his vaunted knockout power in the lighter division.
The fight with Goulet will mark Swick’s first bout since undergoing surgery in July to remove bone fragments and bone spurs.
“I had a few bone fragments floating around in my elbow joint causing inflammation. There were also bone spurs that needed to be removed. It has been ongoing for a while,” he told MMAWeekly.com in an August interview. “It reduced my flexibility in the right arm and if it was extended too much it would swell up and be useless for a few days until the inflammation went down.”
He is now looking forward to a return to form. “I am extremely motivated and excited to get back in the Octagon… Mentally and physically I will be where I need to be to return to the aggressive, explosive fighter that I used to be.”
Swick and Goulet were originally slated to fight at UFC Fight Night 11 a year ago. Swick bowed out due to injury and Goulet ended up losing via submission to Dustin Hazelett. He has since gone on a three-fight winning streak, including his last two in the Octagon.
Both fighters are looking to establish themselves in a welterweight division loaded with talent.
The bout will take place as part of The Ultimate Fighter 8 Finale featuring both the lightweight and light heavyweight finals of the reality series on Spike TV.

Why??,Goulet has the weakness chin in mma, Houston Alexander shakes his head when he watches this guy.
Jonathan "The Road Warrior" Goulet, more like Road kill!!
I actually like Goulet and I always pull for my fellow Canuck, but I think he has zero chance of winning.
But hey its mma anything can happen War Goulet!!!

What? Goulet? WTF, man. Swick beats Burkman and Davis then the natural progression of INCREASING the level of competition leads him to......f*cking Goulet? Horrible. How in the world does this fight make sense? Yes, I understand this is only his 3rd fight at 170lbs, but the level of competition drops off significantly from his first 2 fights to Goulet. This is a horrible, horrible matchup. Maybe a Chris Lytle or even a Dustin Hazelette would be better. But Goulet? Wow...waste of time.

Wow...waste of time. | Seems like they're still trying to build Swick up in the WW division. I don't see why, though...its not like there's a shortage of stars at 170. Maybe we'll finally see a good ol' Swick highlight reel.
Oh, and Hazelett would beat Swick.

i'm with you guys on this....definately doesnt seem like there will be a whole lot for swick to gain by fighting goulet...but maybe hes thinking it will allow him to get more comfortable in the weightclass before taking on stiffer competition?

Didn't Goulet do some goofy internet campaign calling out Swick so he could get back into the UFC in the first place? It could be that Joe Silva is letting Swick take this one just to answer the hype that Goulet started.
