Call me crazy, but I could have sworn Rich hit Matt with a an illegal knee at one point before Matt was fully up. I need to watch the fight again, but I remember watching the ppv and wondering how the hell the ref missed it.
If somebody's got a link to the fight, I'd appreciate it.

If somebody's got a link to the fight, I'd appreciate it. | i know which knee you're talking about, and i also need to watch it again to make sure lol. not 100% if it was illegal but yea.
hamill has a good chin though, for those of you who did know by now. rich hit him flush with some headkicks and he didnt even get rocked.

They tend to develope very strong neck muscles and end up with decent chins. The exception seems to be Matt Hughes really. I've seen Faber, Sherk and Hamil all take some solid shots and not go down. That's one of the reasons I'm so interested in seeing how Brock does against a decent striker.

At 6:52 of the video, with 22 seconds left in the first round.
It's a very close call, but I think Hamill's knee was still on the ground when Rich kneed him in the head.

The only stat of this fight that mattered was this:
Matt's Takedown Attempts: 2
Matt's Non Half Assed Takedown Attempts: 0
Matt's Successful Takedowns: 0
He just couldn't get up for this fight because it was his friend and role model, sad really, but Hamill is a serious fuckin warrior. He can take shots, cuz we all know that Rich hits like a freighter.

If somebody's got a link to the fight, I'd appreciate it. | I think it was an accidental kick. Maybe two accidental kicks...LoL
It was a great fight. That cut above Rich's eye made me think Rich better not lose because of it. He was dominant.
