I agree completely, Baroni in no way deserves this fight... If he loses it's like so what? He has everything to gain from this fight.

Has Shamrock been doing any fighting lately????? He may end up getting destroyed like Gracie..........

Shamrock will destroy Baroni. Not even in the same league. Whether or not Shamrock has been fighting, we all know he still trains and knows how to prepare for a fight.

I think they need to wait until Bas Rutten whoops Kimo in California then set up the Shamrock/Rutten fight. That would be a UFC, Pride caliber fight! Huge draw and I would pay to see that.

regardless, Frank is just a down right great fighter

Baroni- kicked out of ufc for losing
baroni - Kicked out of pride for losing (????)
shamrock great fighter who fights who he wants when he wants and everybody (except dana) wants himto fight for them.
I hope Baroni's corner brings a cell phone to call 911 after he is brutally beaten. He will end up in the hospital. he is like a journeymen pitcher or QB great potential never lived up to the hype but still has flashes of brilliance.

when was Baroni kicked out of Pride? Saying he doesn't deserve a fight with Shamrock is way off. Who exactly has Shamrock fought lately? Baroni is a way more qualified challenger than Cesar Gracie was, who didn't have a real MMA fight until his match with Shamrock, unless you believe that fake record that Strikeforce posted before the match.

I agree that Shamrock will beat Baroni. But it's not like Shamrock has been fighting top competition lately. His only 2 matches in the last 6 years were against Cesar Gracie and Bryan Pardoe. You aren't gonna see Shamrock vs anyone better than a fighter like Baroni in Strikeforce. If you want to see him fight top guys he's gonna have to go to Pride or UFC. I doubt he steps up to fight in either promotion anytime sign. He's too much into his own thing.

Wow one decision loss and all of a sudden Baroni is a washed up loser who wasn't knocking out some of the best talent PRIDE could throw his way on the Bushido series.

Guys, Frank Shamrock was the man back in the day. Agreed. Since his "day" he's come back to fight Bryan Pardoe, got hit with a pretty good punch if I remember correctly, and pulled off an armbar to win an unimpressive fight against a relative unknown. He comes back and knocks out a jiu-jitsu instructor making his pro MMA debut. Big deal. That was a business fight, not a fight that proved anything. Baroni like it or not has skills, he can wrestle, he obviously has tremendous power enough that it makes up for a lot of usually necessary technique when striking.

Now with all that said I'd pick Frank, but in no way do I think it's a give-away fight. It's no "gimmie" for Frank, and Frank has a lot to gain by beating Baroni. It's a win over a legitimate fighter in today's era, something he has yet to do in a many years. His last "real" fight was against Tito Ortiz, and while he did win he fought a Tito pre-cardio days and even still had trouble with him when he didn't know anything but takedowns.

Regardless, I prefer everyone jumping on Shamrock's bandwagon for a Baroni fight, much more than when everyone was acting like it's a really tough pick to decide between Shamrock and Rich Franklin or Dan Henderson. Both guys should be able to handle Shamrock in my opinion.
