Exactly.

I think most true MMA fans can't get enough and watch as much as they can afford (or get their hands on) regardless of the promotion. Having the IFL is awesome because it's just a ton of free MMA. Having Pride fights on FSN is another great thing. Than you have TUF. All good stuff. Big name matchups are interesting but not everything.

America has a lot more rules then Japan which is why you see the difference in MMA. Pride this weekend looked nothing more then just a UFC fight with a ring. Also I am willing to bet a lot of Japanese fighters use steriods since it is perfectly legal there.

A lot of better fighters are in Japan because of the money which also makes it more interesting. I wouldn't mind though if they get rid of the tournys had some more title fights. Just because there is so much talent there which could make for some great fights.

Martial Arts in which form? Do you consider wrestling a Martial Art? What is your source? Not trying to instigate an argument it is an honest question.

wrestling is a form of combat, but is not a martial art. Martial Arts are more than just a "way of fighting" but carry with them phylosiphies of the way one's internal and external relationships with the world should be. wrestling is an ancient form of sport, which has depeloped into a letter wearing, low respect, jock sport.

The philosophy of which styles, and how effective are those styles in a competitive enviroment. And then look at the actual history of wrestling. It is a commonly practised sport, and some people who wrestle are stupid. But I do need to point out the amount of morons who take a Gung Fu class once a week for 6 months and then walk around w/ a blackbelt they earned . About 6 months ago I saw a kid in a wheelchair coming out of a Dojo with a Gi and BLACKBELT. Now I dont mean to make fun of kids in wheelchairs, but I dont think he could get that highkick down to well(actually he could grab his foot and throw it at the opponent ) By the way which classic form do you study?

I've studied Ryu Te Ren Mei since '92, in the last few months i've starting training submission grappling and boxing to expand skills in different areas ..... not all martial arts require you to become and athlete. and there is noplace that will give you a blackbelt after studying for 6months, even in BS schools they are going to make you wait 4+ years before you can test, and even that can be to soon. last year in the 112lb highschool greco division, a kid with 1 leg won the national championship. so make fun on handicapped people who train, one may kick your ass oneday. all was trying to say before is that wrestling is a form of combat and sport but is not is not a martial art.
