Don Frye, Ivan Salvarry, Duane Ludwig, where a couple guys that I thought where coming up but seemed to disappear. I thought Ivan was up for title contention at one point.

Yes but he fell off rather quickly, seeing him in the UFC at 205lbs KOing 300+lb guys and taking an absolute beating from Tank and still standing and putting on a guillotine to become the champion was apparent to me he fell off after his loss to Mark Coleman as Coleman weighed 250lbs of roided muscle and after that, Frye went up in weight to 225 and really hit the weights hard, he was never really the same after that and never evolved from his great boxing abilities, had he learned a good sub game and some kicks he would've gone pretty far.

and yes the Karo title shot situation sucks...but he's prolly not one of Dana's boys like GSP is...LOL | Do some of you guys have a direct line to Dana's thoughts or something?
Title changes happen. That's the way of the sport. If Dana was "afraid" one of his so called "boys" were gonna lose....why would he let Rich fight Anderson?
The champs can only be champs for so long...we all know that, he has to market other fighters too, and Anderson being a KO artist and beating the dominant Rich Franklin makes him very marketable now too.
All the Champions if UFC and most in MMA for that matter carry themselves very well, and speak highly of the sport and come off as very classy guys who aren't "idiots" like some people label all fighters as.
Alright I know....except for Tim Sylvia.

What is Lee Murray doing now?
I heard Carlos Newton is doing his Ph D, so he may not be making fighting as his main focus....I do not know if this is true...

Wanderlei Silva is slipping. What a brutal KO...
I got to go with Evan Tanner. He could beat anyone at his best.

Why is he in Morocco? He is on the run because he is wanted in the UK for allegedly stealing ~$90 million.
This means that, on his release from jail, he will most likely avoid any country with an extradition treaty with the UK (as well as any country that might extrodite him under pressure from the UK government, including the US).
When you factor in him losing part of a lung from a knife fight recently, this all adds up to very little chance of him fighting at a high level ever again.
It's a crying shame, because he had huge potential and could have become truly world class (if he wasn't already). I'm sure he'll be happy though as long as he really did steal that money and he gets away with it - he could buy a very nice yaught.
git.
PS. This post should make it obvious that no other fighter mentioned in this thread comes even close to the 'lost potential' that is Lee Murray.

He went from going undefeated in PRIDE for 5 years, to losing in a poor judges decision to #6 ranked HW Hunt (and weighed 280lbs in the fight against Silva), then loosing to #4 ranked Arona, avenging that loss, defeating HW Fujita (which no one thought he would do as he was outweighed by 45lbs ), then loosing to #2 ranked HW and #2 ranked p4p fighter in the world Cro Cop.
The guy really sucks and should hang it up, he is finished.
