Who are some fighters that had potentail to be an elite fighter but never lived up to it?
Ricco and Vitor stand out.

It's because potential is the dirtiest word in sports. How many times have people that look like they are gonna be superstars then end up being nothing but busts? Potential honestly means shit, you can have allt he potential in world but if you dont commit thats all you are, shit.
When it comes to Victor, its a matter of not envovling away from being a heavy handed striker. Honeslty how many times has this guy been beaten by Wrestlers? In a stand up fight, very few people can go toe to toe with him, just ask Wandy. But thats all he is, stand-up.
When it comes to Ricco, I really don't know much about him to say anything.

SHit yes, BJ is up there. He is still great and everything but the guy can do everything and fight at almost any weight no matter how undersized he is. Hopefully he gets his shit together and gets hungry again.

Pedro Rizzo-I dont know what happend
Tank Abbott-I thought he would try to learn at least one sub move or defense
even Marco Ruas comes to mind, they really promoted him and he was good but not as good as they made him seem.

Don't get wrong, BJ is #1 in my mind, but he needs to realize he has to train some cardio.
Until he realizes it, he is lost potential IMO.

Marco Ruas wast the most overated fighter in that era. His legacy was tarnished for me when he fought Taktarov at UU 1. Avoided the fight for 30 mins.
