I don't like Mike Tyson, I think the guy is a horrible human being. But there is no denying the fact that in his prime he was arugably the hardest hitting boxer to ever live. That was with 12oz Boxing gloves on. You could imagine what that would be like with the 4oz MMA gloves or bare knuckle. I would still much rather take a kick from Cro-Cop, then a clean punch from Tyson.

Keep in mind Tyson was knocking people out with heavier gloves. Just imagine if he used MMA gloves....

I would still much rather take a kick from Cro-Cop, then a clean punch from Tyson. | He was NOT the hardest hitting boxer, definitly one of the deadliest because of his aggression, speed and volume. But not the hardest puncher. The man was 5'9, 217lbs in his prime, not a big guy at all. He didn't carry the kind of force in his punch than the likes of men like Lennox Lewis, Razor Ruddock, George Foreman and them. Guys in the 6'3+ range and naturally much bigger and stronger than little Tyson. And Tyson fought a sh*tload of bums throughout his career, alot of them were garbage. The man was a master intimidator, he won alot of his fights by scaring his opposition before the fight even began. Alot of them scared sh*tless and afraid to fight. People actually think that just because he scared most of his opponents to death, it makes him a great warrior. Please! A great warrior is tested when he can't scare somebody to death and has to fight like hell to win. Tyson never did that ever. Not once in his puffed up fake record. Never came back from the brink to take a victory. He's overrated.
Look at his record of wins, look how much C class crap they fed him. His best win being over a 2 year retired 37 year old inactive Larry Holmes. And Spinks crapped his trunks before the fight, dude decided he was gonna take his money rather than put up a fight. Another sorry case of a fighter who took the money and ran. Same thing with Seldon, fell down like an actor from a punch that flew over his head and missed completely.

Dude couldn't break a clinch to save his life. What do you think Fedor or somebody would do to him once the clinch is locked and he gets his ass taken down to the ground? Tyson would be screaming like a girl, while getting his arm snapped in two. His power wouldn't do sh*t for him in MMA. What do you think CroCop would do to him when he slams that left kick to the liver? Tyson was crying from a Holyfield headbutt, he'd have something to cry about when he gets some elbows rammed down into his skull or knees driven into his nose.

This probably doesn't count for much, but Nick Diaz had all of ONE professional fight that I could find. http://www.boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=312079
Sorry to interupt Kowarrior when he's going so strong.

kowarrior I think you are missing the point of the question. Its not who would win in a MMA fight. Because come on, Cro-Cop would beat Tyson in a MMA match. The question was which was worse. A clean Tyson punch or a Cro-Cop kick.
Also, the smaller compact guys almost always hit harder then the taller guys. You think Lennox Lewis could hit as hard as Tyson, no chance in hell. Tyson in his prime was a beast and layed people out with boxing gloves on. Trust me, you wouldnt want to be hit by that bare knuckle.

When he's putting all his weight behind that shot and raining it downwards, that sh*t is gonna deliver crazy power. Tyson just had a high KO ratio but looking at the quality of his comp, you could see alot of it was fodder.
Tyson could barely get Ruddock out of there, after bashing his brains in round after round, teeing off on Ruddock with everything he had in 2 fights. Lewis just blows Ruddock out and puts him on queer street from the first big shot he lands in 2 rounds.
Tyson doesn't hit as hard as Tua either. Punch for punch, Tyson is the lower tier of big punchers.

Trust me, you wouldnt want to be hit by that bare knuckle. | You think you'd wanna get hit by bare knuckles by any heavyweight puncher? Get your head on straight! Tyson was no more powerful than alot of the big punchers out there. Difference is, he had the mentality of a puncher/slugger and was a hunter in the ring. Alot of punchers didn't have that mentality, they chose to box and punch like Wladimir Klitschko and Lennox Lewis. But that sure as hell doesn't mean they couldn't rearrange a guy's entire facial structure with a bare knuckle punch. Tyson is a small man, he's not physically as big or as strong as the monsters out there today. 5'9 217lbs vs 6'5, 245lbs, or 6'6, 242lbs. Bigger men, bigger punchers!
