not to mention we're talking about the WEC which is basically like a farm team for the UFC. They don't even carry enough v iewership to hold PPVs and they're on an even smaller network than Spike. They're making plenty of money, but most, other than has beens like Pulver are on the way up in their careers. I bet they'd do it for just enough money to support themselves. I can't imagine anyone has the dream of being the WEC veteran. They ALL want to move up.

They would have a PPV brand if the UFC folded its WW and Light Weight Division into the WEC and kept the MW and higher Divisions in the UFC then allowed for superfights between the two promotions. Giving them the ability to run two seperate PPV's a month. Also this would allow them more room for expansion within their weightclasses.

| Actually you need big base pay and a small one (otherwise you will have huge problem signing big names). What I would suggest is not to double winners purse as a bonus - instead have fixed bonus for that fight so guy with a smaller pay would have even bigger motive to win. For example set bonus for Pulver/Garcia fight should be set to 30K so whoever wins it gets it.

Either way, I don't think this loss hurt Faber at all. Looking at it, it was a good attempt for an elbow, and it probably would have worked on someone else.
Really i would have to just give it up to Brown more than fault Faber, Brown came ready to go (not saying Faber didn't). I actually like that Faber takes chances and makes exciting fights. You can be 100 and 0, but if nobody comes to see you fight, it really doesn't matter.
Faber will get more money once his current contract ends no doubt.

faber's win bonus would have been $24,000, instead of double his base pay like most other fighters. I'm sure they were assuming he was going to win, and therefore he would have made $38,000. Still not a ton, but I don't think that was mentioned in the original post.
It still doen't really make sense for Chael Sonnen to be making more than him. Not hating or anything, but Faber is without a doubt their most popular/marketable fighter.

I know it's not all him, but he's the one of the reason why I get excited about WEC. Kimbo makes $500,000 and Faber makes $14,000... something is definitely wrong here.

Faber will get more money once his current contract ends no doubt. | I agree that faber has no trouble right now. A loss is a loss. This is his time to shine now. it's out of the way. Now he can fight to be as good as he cane be instead of the tiny possibility that sometimes he thought about his record in a fight. I have no basis for saying he did, just on the off chance.
I think Faber is going to be around at the top tier for many years. and he's really likable to boot. so great to market this guy, he's a money machine
