I see, so in your mind Hughes is guilty of being a racist until he is proven innocent, even though both his camp and the racist organization in question have stated UNCATEGORICALLY that Hughes has no affiliation with the organization whatsoever and that basically what he is guilty of is signing something and being photographed with it without due diligence.

Why was the name of my thread changed? I had the thread title as "White Boy Society debunks "racist Hughes" chatter" .... which is precisely what happened....somehow it changed from that to a watered down, weaksauce "issues statement"?

They did in fact issue a statement, but that's a tamer, watered down version of the truth which is that they themselves vindicated Hughes and supported what Hughes' own camp has said.

That in fact is what happened here, and that in fact was my original thread title, so the fact that it was intentionally CHANGED - an overt act - to this weaksauce version indicates someone has a particular axe to grind, and reality be damned, which I think is pretty sad.

Whether or not they're "racist", they're probably aware that publicly stating that you have pride in being Caucasian will be taken as so or at the least be controversial in this hyper sensitive political environment. Why they didn't think of this before posting the picture, I'm not sure. Maybe they were just excited about it and couldn't resist. That can happen.

As far as Matts views on race, I obviously dont know him personally but I kinda get the impression from his statement about Obama and his attitude towards Rashad on TUF that he doesn't really care for blacks. But is that supposed to be unusual for a farmboy from Iowa? I dont think he cares for a lot things that aren't a part of his world.
I'm also of the opinion that as long as he keeps that to himself than he shouldn't be forced to like black people if he doesn't want to either. Thats just his personal business IMO.

Actually, I stated pretty clearly that I have questions about Hughes. I didn't say that I feel he is racist or that he isn't racist, I just said I'll need to hear directly from him before I make up my mind. That I'm not going to trust any spin-doctor mouthpiece or a clearly racist site for any degree of accurate information.

That's a bit different from what you've stated above.

I changed it to the weaksauce, watered down title because it's more accurate. They issued a statement, and the statement doesn't prove anything unless you see them as a credible source of information.

The whiteboy society isn't qualified to debunk anything, as they have no credibility. It's not about having an axe to grind, or even accusing Matt of anything...it's about considering the source of the statement and realizing that they're a bunch of racist assholes who aren't qualified to debunk anything.

Again, I don't know if Matt is racist or not, or if he approves of the shirt or the content on the website...and nothing will be "proved" or "debunked" with any degree of authority on either side of the issue until Matt makes a statement himself.
