for the record dont use having a black belt to back up your posts when you get called out on it. it is irrelevant and pointless, and if you are going to repeatedly claim you have a blackbelt at least prove it in some way. and also palma didnt start personal attacks you did so you only brought it about yourself what could you expect

Here's my thing regarding GSP/Penn:

I think it's b.s. that Penn won't be allowed a shot at Anderson Silva if he beats GSP. Am I the only one who thinks that Penn's style is taylor-made to beat Silva?

Penn has great bjj, undoubtedly a level above Silva's, and Penn's boxing is very good. He slips punches better than just about any mixed martial artist I've ever seen.

Grant it, Penn has a small frame, but he's getting older and is beginning to put on that "man meat," so I think with the proper strength and conditioning training he could bulk up enough to challenge Silva at a catch weight.

If my memory serves me correctly, Silva fought at 175 in the ROTR tournament. That seems like a perfect weight for Silva vs Penn. Also, that completely legitimizes the p4p title. Silva has had dominant showings at 185 and 205, while Penn has had dominant showings at 155 and 170.

If Penn and Silva could meet at 175, the winner should undoubtedly be considered number 1 p4p ABOVE Fedor. Yes I said it. Now for those of you who think Silva would put a hurting on Penn, you should check out Machida vs Penn.

That fight also shows some good examples of Penn's ability to slip punches and land counters. With all of that said, I'm not counting GSP out. He could win, but I honestly think Penn is going to give him a beating--basically finishing what he started in the first round of their fight at UFC 58.

GSP vs Silva would be a big money fight, but I dont think GSP has what it takes to beat Silva. Sure GSP's wrestling has improved immensely, but I honestly don't see GSP passing Silva's guard. Silva could even submit him.

However, I think Penn could slip and land punches, easily avoid the MT clinch, eventually get it to the ground, and submit anderson.

I've disagreed with how 90% of the interweb views p4p rankings anyway; so I'm sure that even if that were to happen, there would be people who would still find a way to keep him out of the top spots...guys who are including Forrest as a top p4p guy even though he's something like 20 lbs heavier than the guys he's beating just frustrate me.

BJ will be a toss up with Fedor after he beats GSP, in my opinion. I am a huge Anderson Silva fan, but [much like GSP] he's physically bigger than a lot of the guys he's fighting. Sure, he's got a much better skillset than GSP, but I try to eliminate size/weight advantages from my p4p rankings, unlike the unwashed majority of posters.

Unless something crazy happened, like lesnar beating--no, not just beating, but finishing Nogs; and then Fedor signing for the UFC and taking him out in the first. And even then, I'd be conflicted. Maybe if lesnar finished Nog twice or something.

Some crazy stars would have to be in alignment for that shit to happen.

Fedor is hampered because he's a HW, and there aren't really any skilled fighters who are significantly bigger than him to compare his accomplishments to when you have someone like Penn who can move up and still finish opponents who are a weight class or more heavier than him.

Here's something I'm wondering:

If GSP beats Penn, moves to to face Silva for the title and beats him, will he defend both the 185and 170 lb belts, or will he stick to one weight class?

Moving up and down from 155-170 wouldnt take that much of a toll on the body, would it?

Now moving back and forth from 185-170 may be a different story because I'm sure GSP plans on bulking up significantly for a 185 lb fight.
